Black & Decker 36V Cordless Leaf Blower $99.95 + Postage $9.95 for Gold Coast

30

This is the best price I found for months; Cordless 36V Lithium battery garden blower.
Recently, Aldi was selling 18 volt for $69 and petrol one was sold for $99.
Bunning best priced cordless blower expect to pay +$90 for 18V
Ebay also similar priced for 18V lithium blowers.
Ryobi from Bunnings with charger 36V expect to pay +$229.

Unfortunate, I just purchased Works brand from Masters few weeks ago…

Cordless blowers are not comparison for petrol ones in respect blowing power but they are lot more practical. In fact I use them every day for my garage. They are ideal for suburban houses. 18 volts (like Ryobi) blowers are useless weak, battery life is hardly enough a single house work. 36 volts are great, easy for your average size house garden work.

  • How long do these suckers or is that blowers actually last with full use on 1 charge?
It says 120kph (which is pretty weak) but then on the specs tab says 120mph. Which is it?!?

    • Mums aldi one lasts 30mins per charge. Not sure of this one.

steer clear of this one, even at 120mph that is weak. $99 is too much for this. A cheap petrol mucculloch is not much more and is 270kph+

I also bought that Aldi cordless blower that lasted two weeks. Battery stopped working. I tried to get help for a months no one responded my mails and calls. I had to return it for a refund.
36V twice the size of Aldi 18V battery. It has to be better power and to give more time.
I believe this one slightly heavier than Aldi blower but much less weight than any petrol blower.
Petrol blowers comes with huge power but they are dirty, you got to mix the petrol and empty it after use, pull it when you finished and tired the garden work.

Volts don't mean sh!t. It's a common misconception. For example a 10V Festool has more than double the power and running time of the equivalent B&D 18V tool. What matters is how efficient the tool is, and at this cheap price range EVERY TOOL is inefficient.

you got to mix the petrol

I think you will find mixing a 5lt tin of petrol and oil once every year takes far less time than the constant recharging of an electric blower before each time you use it (and the hassle of hacing to remember to put it on charge the day before)

          and empty it after use

huh? this is new to me. Who does this?

About the only thing we agree on. And the only reason I got an electric one for my mum.

You are right Volt doesn't mean it is more powerful but "expecting" better performance. There is more to do tool itself as well. You can buy a STIHL it will give you much better time and power for ++$500…

It is a personal choice mixing petrol with oil or placing a battery on its charger for one hour. Electric ones are really difficult when you have to carry cables, and heavier then cordless ones but they are also better when they comes usually with vacuum and mulcher.

If you ask any two stroke tools dealer, mechanic and repair shop they will know petrol storage is not good more than a month. You may not realize it, but petrol begins to decompose and break down into other compounds in as little as one month when stored. Emptying tank stops the OIL (used in the 2-stroke fuel) from gumming up the tiny jets in these small motors. If you don't, it may effect starting and life of the tools.
Of course you can use petrol stabilizer or extender rather than emptying the tank.

  • reckon this one is also on cotd as well - I know they are the same company so i wouldn't be surprised

  • Yesterday, they also had B&D 36V cordless hedge trimmer that's comes with a 4yrs warranty. No sure if this blower or the trimmer is good or not.

  • COTD has them as well for $99.95 + Shipping. They do not look very powrful
