FREE (Episode 1) Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga [iOS]

Moved to Forum: Original Link

For you Lego and Star Wars fans, we offer some great news! As of today, you can download Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga from the iTunes App store. The game offers 36 story modes with more than 120 playable characters. You can even choose the dark or light side characters, but Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Boba Fett must be unlocked to use. There is also unlockable special bonus content, such as Bounty Hunter missions and Arcade levels.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga also lets you create new character combinations, such as Lando Amidala. Your gameplay is enhanced with switchable "Classic" and "Touch Screen" controls, so that you can play in the most comfortable mode on each device.

Episode I (The Phantom Menace) is free, but Episodes II through VI come at a price. The Complete Saga is US$14.99 and individual episodes and characters range from $0.99 to $4.99. The game is compatible with iOS 6 or later and the iPhone 4 and up, the iPad and iPod touch.

We recommend you download Episode I to your computer and sync it to your iOS device because the direct-to-iPhone or iPad version is a whopping 1.44 GB, while the synced version uses less space and weigh in at only 735 MB.

The Complete Saga had a 9+ rating. According to Apple's Application Ratings, this means it may not be suitable for children younger than 9 due to "infrequent occurrences of cartoon, fantasy or realistic violence… or mild mature, suggestive or horror-themed content."

Users who have jumped on this purchase are generally thrilled with gameplay, but not the individual episode pricing.

You’ll need 1.44gb of available space on your device if you install over wifi, but only 735mb of space if you download on your computer and then sync.

As with many large app installations, we advise that you restart your device after installing as this will resolve some stability issues. Also make sure you have installed the most recent firmware.

Requires iOS 6.0 or later

Is this really a bargain? Episode 1 always has been free, and always will be free — there's no discount here.

What are you talking about? This game was literally just released on iOS the other day.

OP has clearly marked it as a freebie so I don't see what the issue is.

        What are you talking about?

What does it matter that this got released a few days ago? Episode 1 of this will never be a paid game. It's yet another "free with in-app purchase" game of which there are countless examples. How is this a bargain?

I don't see what the issue is

Freebie apps that get posted to OzBargain were almost always paid apps at some stage — look at the posting history for iOS apps and you'll see most (if not all) of the apps are only free for a limited time. That's the key difference.

The deal posting guidelines also make it pretty clear that free software that will always be free shouldn't be posted anywhere but the forums: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

Oh wow. You take this stuff way too serious. You really have nothing better to do with your time?

I for one am thankful that OP posted this as there is no mention of how long it will remain free so for all I know it could be gone tomorrow.

Well, you were challenging me to defend my opinion when you retorted "what are you talking about?". What did you expect?

You really have nothing better to do with your time?

Clearly I'm wasting my time here. Have a nice night.

And that right there is the icing on the cake :D

"I for one am thankful that OP posted this as there is no mention of how long it will remain free so for all I know it could be gone tomorrow."

Its the oldest IOS trick in the book.

          It will always be free.

        • I will always be free.

          1UP for you. :)

        • HAHA. You cant control me!!! :-P

        • You're both right and both have good points. As someone (me) who doesn't give a toss about the rules either, while not wanting to see freemium crap it's a grey area. I think as long as the poster isn't a paid shill we should give them the benefit of the doubt.

It say The Complete Saga is free, but Episodes II through VI come at a price?

    • the name of the game is called the complete saga. ie… free episode 1, pay for the rest.

Title should read 'Lego Star Wars [iOS] ep 1 free, 2-6 $15.99 IAP'

    FREEMIUM! >_<

You need to change the title "FREE Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga [iOS]"

    You state in the details
"Episode I (The Phantom Menace) is free, but Episodes II through VI come at a price. The Complete Saga is US$14.99 and individual episodes and characters range from $0.99 to $4.99."

Title should say " FREE Lego Star Wars Episode 1 [IOS]"

Regardless I don't think the freemium model should ever be considered a bargain. Doesn't belong here, maybe forum.

  • Is this a discount? Or is it always free with in app purchases?

  • Not free, only episode 1 is free.
