iPod Touch 16g or 32g - worth the extra $ ??

For Ipod touch owners, is it worth paying more and getting 32g? I wanted to get the 16g on sale but everywhere is out of stock (officeworks and tgg) and now I am thinking maybe $269 for 32g is perhaps a good deal if I can stretch my budget.

I appreciate your thoughts.

It really depends if you think you will ever use up all the space. It can be easy to rack up a lot of space via apps and music and movies so you never quite know. You need to remember that the storage space can't be upgraded.

Having said all of that I had an 8GB iPod Touch many years ago and ran out of space and had to play around with files a lot which was annoying. In a way I don't like the super high cost of having double the space but if you really want an iPod and picture having lots of apps and music etc. you may want to do the favour and get more space.

  • For my son so not sure how much space he'll use, he's more into games and youtube rather than music at this stage.

Some of the big games now like Infinity blade and such can be 1-2gb each, so if he is really into playing games on it then the extra space may be worth it

Youtube won't use any storage space

I'd personally go 32gb as by the time you've got a bit of music on it a couple of movies and some games you'll be just about at 16gb already and it's annoying running out of space while trying to shoot a video/pictures

If you are looking at the 5th gen iPod touch be aware that the
32GB model has a 5MP camera at the back
Whereas the 16GB has no camera at the back

They both have a camera at the front.

  • Great, thanks everyone. You have made my decision easier, I'll go with the 32g.

    • That's good to hear. Hope he likes it!

Sidenote: Can you adopt me for the holidays? :P

  • IMO iPods aren't worth it anymore.

I just broke one and have said screw it not fixing. For the $200 that apple charge you could easily get an android phone that does what a iPod does plus more.

    Anyways enjoy :)

    • A $200 android phone that gives access to itunes music, ios apps plus more?
Oh wow. much value. such android.
