thanks for post - but worst game in the world.

    • I've heard good things about Just Cause 2 (from mates that play it), and that new multiplayer mod. At work at the moment, so i think I'll grab a copy of when i get home of it. For $2.99 i think I'll take a gamble :)

Say whaaaat? This game is awesome, especially with the 'unbreakable grappling hook' mod.

This is perfect timing too, since the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod was just released.

nah, frostman is half right; it could have been an awesome game but the developers were half-assed, and presumed they could release a bug-filled pos and get away with it.

Just Cause 2 has the awesome jump-in-and-go-anytime feel of Far Cry 3, but, unfortunately, you inevitably discover that in JC2 this only happens in theory; this try-hard game flounders (while every single thing in, say, Far Cry3 works and is polished to perfection).

Be my guest. Go and try take out an objective -oilfield, town, etc- where (according to the game) you need to destroy, say, 7 targets. Search for hours and only find 6? Get on the forums only to find thousands of others can only find 6, and that there never was 7? Ahhhh rofl, did you waste your time you idiot? We're Scandinavian, there never was 7, we stuffed it up a bit! Right!

      • Interesting viewpoint, I (like many) found FarCry 3 to be total crap. With boss fights being a drug induced trip fest and every activity being "clear this base" etc. For a game that is supposed to have some kind of story, that's a bit weak. I found the most annoying thing the travelling, constantly dying by falling down cliffs, no way to climb up them & hangliders that just don't go the distance. In the end it's just a lot of walking (usually trying to find a car). Not to mention you play some surfer guy from California who after a near death experience levels up to being 'Rambo'.

Just Cause 2 is a sandbox game, you get a huge map, thousands of bases filled with hundreds of things that go boom. The story is just a confirmation that yes, you are meant to go and destroy stuff. Add to that vehicles ranging from rickshaws to Lockheed C-130 Hercules (clone of), a grappling hook and an infinite supply of parachutes. Q: For fun what else do you need? A: Multiplayer, now it has that too :D

        • I don't know about "many" finding FC3 to be total crap as it's obviously the higher regarded of the two critically and commercially, but each to their own etc etc. For what it's worth, of course the story in FC3 is hopeless and easily disregarded, like most games. Yeah I had more than a few deaths falling down cliffs while getting around and difficulties getting to certain places but nowhere near enough to ruin my experience. In this regard, and compared to an awkward, clunky monstrosity like Skyrim (which I was playing before and after FC3), getting around Rook Island was comparatively smooth and hassle-free. I loved just cruising round the island so much I ended up trying to clear the maps of loot as an excuse to keep playing, something I have never come remotely close to doing in a game before FC3

Interesting you note that "every activity being "clear this base" etc" negatively for FC3, yet praise JC2 for being the exact same thing. Don't get me wrong- I enjoyed a lot of JC2, but got too frustrated by what I saw as it's shortcomings. The final straw was spending time clearing certain bases (two particular ones before I stopped playing) only to find out later that it was impossible because testing had failed to discover there were only (for eg) 6 available targets rather than 7 needed in order to complete the mission. Sure there were hundreds and hundreds of bases, but this is just half-assed; they overreached when they should have had more thorough testing on a more manageable amount.

        • "many" was my experience from comments on this site, as well as opinions from other people I play with. People who's opinions I value more than critics or sales volume.

Sorry I should have been more clear on the "clear this base" thing, I meant JC2 does that as the basis for the game (and in my opinion this is polished to perfection). FC3 does it but it seems like a tacky attempt to make a linear shooter feel non-linear.

My only had two glitches in the game (JC2); one involved a plane and the other involved getting stuck in Baby Panay's nose :P

I wouldn't rate either game very highly, maybe a 6-7/10 each but for me JC2 was simply crazy stupid fun. Maybe on my way to 100%ing the entire map I'll discover those glitched bases (if you know their names I'll head there asap).

I can't remember exactly but one was the oilrig closest to the general area you start from. I played on the 360; if you're on pc I'd assume it to be fixed if it ever was in that version at all.
