Been looking around for a surround sound headset compatible with the PS4 and this appears to be (according to Tritton website).

Checked EB games in store and they were priced at $249, amazon has them listed at $141, prices on shopbot were $179+.

Shipping was $9.95 for me, or $14.95 for express.

    Oh god damn it, I purchased the PX22s like a month ago because I thought I'd get a cheap headset now to work with PS3 that would allow me to record gameplay. I paid around $100-120 for it, they are only stereo sadly and may not work with PS4 lol This is a pretty damn good price for a 7.1 headset, especially if it works with PS4.

    Anyone with a bit of headset/audio know how help me here

    Looking for a pair of headphones to use with my tv/xbox - however the TV has only got the optical audio out. I've tried with a regular pair of headphones with a Digital AUdio Converter but wasn't able to increase the volume due to lack of amplifier (i think)

    Would this kit help me out and is it a worthwhile investment.

    No word if its compatible with future gen consoles but eh?

      These Trittons take in game audio via optical, so it shouldn't be an issue with volume control.

      Should work fine for PS4. For Xbox One it won't work until Microsoft releases their adapter some time next year.

    Rang The Gamesmen, asking them about my questions above. The guy who answered the phone seemed quite knowledgeable and assured me that these headphones would be good for my situation.

    He also pointed out that the sale also applies to other colours (red and black)

    Hey OzBargaineers,
    thanks for the great feedback regarding this offer, I'll clear up a few points to some of the questions raised here:

    • The sale is on most of our Tritton Gaming Headsets, including the AX180, Tritton 720+, Tritton Pro+, and Warhead Headsets.
    • The 720+ and Pro+ headsets are available in White, Black and Red and there's no price difference between the colours.
    • The 720+ and Pro+ headsets grab audio via an included optical cable, however the Pro+ also comes with an adaptor to 4x 3.5mm headphoen jacks to hook directly into a surround sound card in a PC/Mac.
    • The 720+ is Virtual 7.1 surround Sound, and the Pro+ is True 5.1 surround sound - True 5.1 means it had 4 speakers in each ear piece, virtual 7.1 means one larger speaker per earpiece (stereo) simulating surround sound as most turtlebeach headsets do.
    • For most people virtual 7.1 is good enough, for audiophiles you'll want the Pro+ (my personal headset of choice)
    • The AX180, 720+ and Pro+ all work on the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, PS3 and yes PS4…. but NOT Xbox One until adaptors are released next year some time (ETA unknown), also the AX180 needs to connect to the RCA audio out of your TV for game sound as it does NOT use Optical

      $229.95 is the RRP, we have indeed had them on sale on and off over the last 24 months but this is by far the best price we've ever had them at

    Quick compatibility update: It has come to our attention thanks to a friendly ozBarganeer that the 720+ headset will not work with the Xbox 360 E models due to it's lack of optical output and multi-av output socket, which the audio optical output adaptor used to connect to on earlier models. The Pro+ will also not work in surround mode for the same reason but comes with a pc adaptor which will connect to the headphone jack on the back of the Xbox 360 E model for stereo sound.
