Chocolate!

What's Christmas without a mountain of chocolate?!

I'm actually heading over to Bangkok for Christmas for 5 days. I have 30kg of checked luggage that I wasnt planning on using, so I'm thinking about bringing a suitcase full of chocolate. This sounds like a good idea, but I really hope it doesn't melt…

Are there any specials going on at the moment? I remember seeing that giant sampler at Safeway for $20 earlier in the year. I think there's a 1kg box of Roses for $20 at Costco too.

  • Out of curiosity what are you going to do with suitcase full of chocolate in Bangkok?

    • Transfer the weight.

    • I have a whole bunch of friends and their families that I'd gift it to. Real chocolate is expensive over there.

  • The Chocolate Box has pretty good quality chocolate (i.e. real chocolate as you say) - you can get the chocolate directly from the factory in Port Melbourne for a 15% discount! http://www.yelp.com.au/biz/chocolate-box-factory-port-melbou…

Also, not chocolate per se but chocolate related, their coconut roughs are out of this world. A friend and I were scoping the store out (for samples) and after trying one we were suckered into buying 1kg each! It was cheap though, like $8 per.

  • If my recent trip to Singapore is indicative, it should last the plane trip no probs. About an hour after the flight i got a belt out of my bag at hotel and the metal buckle was really cold! But don't expect it to last too long otherwise.
