  Big W also have 50% off Raco. If you cook with oil and high heat non stick will die pretty quick. Better off with stainless steel if you cook this way.

    Depending on the blend, non-stick pan surfaces start decomposing and releasing gases at around 350 degrees Celsius…. which is unlikely to happen at home unless you're using a pottery oven to cook with.

    The biggest 'issue' is when/if the coating starts to flake off and you start ingesting that…. although frankly I doubt that would cause any issues either (it should simply go straight through). If this is happening with a pan though I expect it's time to put it into the hard rubbish as the food will start to burn when cooking anyhow.

    The keys with non-stick are to not put it through the dishwasher (even when they say it's dishwasher safe), avoid using metal utensils on it (even when they say you can), and try to use oils with high burning points (eg Rice oil rather most olive oils or cooking sprays) when you need to use oil. Oh, and don't over-heat them ie stick to at most medium-high, not high or equivalent on your stove. If you don't follow some or all of the above, you won't die but the pan won't last as long as it might otherwise.
