iPad Mini with Retina Display 64GB or 128GB? With Cellular? Cheapest Price?

Hi all,

I am thinking to get my gf an iPad Mini with Retina Display since lots people saying that A7 works faster than A5. But should I get 64GB or 128GB? Should I get her Wi-Fi only or Wi‑Fi + Cellular? Also where can I source the cheapest price?

We live in Sydney and she has 1.5GB data on her Vodafone mobile plan.

Need some advise asap.

Thanks everyone.

  • Cheapest price will be Big W or office works. This site does a reasonable job of tracking prices.

As for what to get depends on what you are going to use it for. Lots of photos and Videos go 128 otherwise 64 may be enough. Same with Cellular and non cellular, depends if its going to stay at home connected to WiFi or if its going to be used on the cellular network. Its all a personal preference.

    • Thanks Oac,

That's a good site for price comparison.

  • If she has a smartphone then get the wifi model, you can just tether to the phone when there is no wifi available.

As for the memory, well I get by with 16gb and I am a heavy user. It depends if you are the type to carry around your entire movie library on the iPad which you will never look at anyway. There is cloud storage these days which makes the 16gb a viable option. Cheapest source is Big W, but I reccomend price match at Apple, because I went through three Retina Mini's with dead pixels.

  • Thanks Oac and Nubzy,

From the way I interpreted your comments is that I should go for 64gb Wi-Fi iPad.

I knows she has a lot of photos and movies but I believe she will save the photos into PC as a backup. As for movies and musics, she will never finish 30gb of movies in iPad, hence she doesn't need 128gb iPad.

Thanks again for these precious comments. Time to spend money again… :(
