That is awesome, i wish i had a gf like that too. Well most likely there will be a discount, however, the orange box deal was awesome but for people that missed it, this deal probably be pretty good. Also means there will be a massive update for TF2 as well.
What if your girlfriend weren't all that good at playing? :P We don't really know which games to play now.. Played Diablo 2, which is fun. L4D (which is fun as well, though that bloody Zelda map..), tried NWN and something else but both refused to work multiplayerly, so we kinda gave up after that.
On the topic, this is interesting, thanks for the heads up — so will get to it some time around tonight, then. Getting a bit tired of L4D, and it's been a while since we've played TF2. Come to think of it, haven't played it outside of LAN. ._. Uhhh. I guess we'll see how it goes, lol. (I try not to embarrass myself with strangers..-coughs-)

Yup. At the end of the weekend (US time) you will not be able to connect to any servers unless you buy the full game.
Just had a look and it says my game is still valid for 3.8 days, so it should work up until Monday night or something? Also it has been reduced to 9.99USD, so half price yay!

Yeah it's a GREAT game. Requires teamwork though and probably great to have a mic as well :)
I think it's a bit overrated tbh. Compared to the hours I've spent playing cs source, dod source, zombie panic source, l4d and now killing floor, I haven't played tf2 all that much. Well my period of being 'into it' was way shorter than the others. Probably cause it's such a quake kind of game where you basically go around and hectically blow the crap out of each other really quickly as opposed to the other games which are slower paced (except l4d) and requires more tactics. More or less a spam fest. I know tf2 does require teamwork but apart from the sniper all other classes just spam when shooting and you can't really aim for headshots. Well that's my opinion…obviously others think differently. That said it's still a very original game with it's style and classes.
TF2 does have its merits. The range of classes there is bound to be some that suit you. Competitive TF2 is also where its at, CS and L4D is obviously a spam fest also in PUB games, so the same with TF2 when you got 10vs10 chaos in pubs.
Skill wise there is a lot. Scout needs aim and reflexes. Soldier requires prediction and skills such as rocket jumps. Demoman is pretty hard to use now as well especially with their nerfs.
But yeah, I found it hard to keep interested in TF2 for some reason, just wasn't the same as QWTF and CS which has more lasting appeal.

Wow, my boyfriend has been playing this all day today, and I just decided I was gonna buy it this weekend after I hand in my uni assignment tomorrow! Perfect timing woo hoo!
