The Good Guys has Dyson DC54 Multi floor advertised for 549, got 10% price beat @Masters online for $494.10. Not as good as the price at Harvey Norman deal before the new year but that was only available at one store.
Delivery is around 10 dollars.

depends on what you have, I had carpet before and I used a DC23 it was doing a very good job but at the same time I believe it was destorying my carpet. Now I have timber floor and the current head is not doing a sufficient job. And the new vacumme has much more power compare to my old DC23.
My brother and mother are both running DC39 multi floor and they are very happy with it. We had eletrolux previously and they weren't that good.

You ring them up and get them to check TGC website, and they will beat it by 10%

Definitely the best price I've seen. I recently got one from DJ's for about the same price and that was only due to a pricing error. Excellent on hard floors and on short carpets. The thing to remember with Dyson is the only real difference with the models is the addons which you can buy later. If you'd rather just get a base model and add to it as you find you need it, this is a good place to start. I should have done it years ago.
Are they worth it? Other bagless vacs are $250
