    I get stuck at the checkout too, but then I get an email that it's all gone through about a few minutes later - although the checkout page is still loading.

  Last night, 15 minutes after posting, it took ages to get to checkout screen , it put sample in cart then when I went to check out it said nothing in cart. Nothing in cart? I could see there was 1 item in shopping cart. I tried 3 times. Now, this morning, it has 1 item in cart for $8.90 and it is happy to checkout. Sounds like a rort to me.

  Googling up "faircoffeeshop" and its variants came up with nothing else but their own website. No media coverage or reviews at all, and http://wa-com.com/faircoffeeshop.com says it's hosted in Germany.

  I wouldn't trust my details with them.

  I tried to order yesterday, but the site was too slow so thought I would try again later.

  I successfully placed an order just moments ago, however the sample now costs 1 cent instead of being free like yesterday.

    Probably a good idea on their part. Charging 1 cent should eliminate those people who have no use for the product. Anyone who bothers to pay the 1 cent fee should at least stand a chance of being converted to a regular customer. Sounds like a good concept/product too so I hope it works out for them.

  Received this email today:

  Good morning,

  We have noticed that on 1st January 2014, you have registered to receive a free 100g sample bag of our delicious, pure organic and radically fair coffee from Timor Leste (whole beans only). At the time of your registration, our web site was spammed by a robot which caused some issues in our registration system and data were lost. As a consequence, we are now unable to distinguish between 'fake' and genuine registrations and can not send out samples for registrations that were done on that day.
  The issue has been fixed in the meantime and we can process registrations again.

  If you are still interested in receiving a 100g sample of our coffee free of charge, could you please register again on our web site at

  You will be guided through a checkout process as a guest user and then receive two emails - one confirming your Coffee Campaign registration and a second one, which is an order confirmation with a $0 invoice attached (Invoice numbers starts with 14…). Coffee will be roasted at the end of January and all samples will be despatched shortly after that (Australia Post - road delivery service). Delivery address must be in Australia, only one sample per household.

      We've been called professionals before but not robots! Surely they must know where the traffic came from and that they were legitimate people. It's not too hard to figure out. By the way, it is back to being free as I've just registered again.

  Now getting so much SPAM!

  This was the only site I gave my details to in months. Within a few days of signing up, my SPAM has increased from an average of 2/day to 35, then to 50…
  Not worth the bother/risk.
