Nexus 5. My in contract HTC One got nicked

Some dude decided to ruin the last day of 2013 By nicking my HTC one. Pulled out the sim too as I could not ring it or track it via device manager.

Emei blocked with Telstra.

Anyway. Need another phone for work and at work contracts are a personal liability and work refunds cost. So the replacement phone will be out of pocket and 16 months to go on contract.

I have an old iPhone 4. But would probably prefer to stick with android.
From reading forums here it looks like for my situation the nexus 5 is a good value buy.

I have the new nexus 7 And love it

Any deals or do I just but it off Google's play store?

  • Yeah not really any deals. Google play store for outright. Better to get a warranty from them than a 3rd party.

  • Either get a Nexus 5 or use the iPhone 4 for around 3-4 months, till the next gen phones come out.

  • Thanks for the advice… I was in Telstra getting a replacement sim… amazingly the Nexus 5 is nearly 700 bucks instore!

Anyway, I happen to have a quick play with HTC One Mini… it kinda worked well for me and did not seem to dear… Given I am used to the one (but see the smaller form factor as a possible bonus)… how does an HTC one mini rate on the replacement radar and also relative to the Nexus 5?

  • You can't beat the nexus 5 for value, and there aren't many others that would be coming out in that price range until the nexus 6 or whatever is next.

If you can't wait, get the nexus 5, it's great (I have one and love it). Otherwise stay with the iphone until you go insane from it ;)

  • ha ha… in a moment of insanity just put IOS 7 on the iphone 4 and it is a dog now…. Thanks Brezzo. That advice feels solid.

  • Rather than start another thread, I'd thought I feed off this.

The Play Store seems to be sold out of 32GB Black devices, any other place I can pick one up with decent warranty?
