Good value Medium size luggage. Any ideas?

Hi looking for 55cm to 65cm hard case spinner luggage for travel next month. Saw this American tourister on sale at DJ for $165. After 20% further discount it's about $130. Is that good value? Need advice Thanks.

We bought this 3 set. The smallest is perfect for carry on.

    There's a 2 set available for a little less.
Survived 7 airports - wouldn't leave home without them.

    Happy travels.

    • Cheers for that. It does look a better bargain! Thanks

Here's another set - no experience with it though.

    • Thanks for that. More options. You are a fantastic bargain hunter! This one looks sturdier with the protection at the edges too

Actually can I ask, when they delivered the luggage to you, were they packaged in a box or something? I'm worried if I want to return them for any reason , it is difficult to send them back by post. Given the big size and all

They came packed within each other - and in a cardboard box from www.oo
Read their return policy if in doubt.

I thought the wheels might fall off/get snagged - but they all survived.
I used "suitcase" belts (from old sports gear bags - the shoulder straps with click buckles) as a safety, in case the zipper failed in flight.

The smallest case fits in the overhead perfectly. We were able to squeeze 3 bed pillows in it (and nothing else) which made the 16 hour flight more comfortable. We intended leaving them on the plane, but we repacked them - carried (wheeled) them everywhere and returned home with them, using them inflight homeward again.

Spinners are just great - you push them forward as opposed to dragging a 2 wheeler.

Also, another thing to consider is the weight of an empty suitcase using up your valuable kg allowance.

Once you've packed it, pick it up while standing on the bathroom scales, deduct your bodyweight to make sure it is within your allowance.

There was another luggage post on OzB yesterday.

    Happy hols

    PS.
Where are you off to ?

    • thanks for the detailed reply. We are going to a multi city Asia tour. Starting in Bali, then Thailand, Vietnam and finally Singapore. Should be fun. I had a travelpro luggage for 5 years. Served me well but the handle is broken and only has 2 wheels. But everything else is still good. I like to get a hard case this time although it will be heavier and with 4 wheels spinners. Was thinking American tourister or samsonite but they are really expensive. Cotd had some deals on luggage before but I have forgotten how much they are

Just found promo code PPLUG10 for 10% off luggage at www.oo.com.au if you pay with PayPal
    Not sure if still valid.

Can I pack myself into one of your suitcases please.

    • Lol I'm sure you don't want to do that. I'm a lousy traveller. Cheers

Here's another set on sale. (I'm actually looking for an outdoor 3m umbrella, not e-stalking you) www.dealsdirect.com.au/search/milano/

Cant find a free delivery code, but there is a 10% off code "welcome10"
I think you have to sign up for their newsletter, and wait for an email.

Just a thought - I could bring my umbrella with us. It'll be Wet Season in SEA.

    • Cheers Mitm! Thanks for providing these helpful options. I may have to start giving you a salary lol. But the link doesn't lead to the luggage set anymore. Must be sold out.

Hopefully won't rain that much where we are going. I figured the monsoon season is around Nov-dec.
