$39.95 for PAST BEST BEFORE 24x 355ml Bottles Carton of Corona at The Bottle-O Victoria Park, WA

30

Saw this on the way to work today. Best I've seen in WA recently is $90 for 2, but of course that's in date. I don't drink the stuff so didn't enquire as to how far beyond the 'Best Before' date it had gone nor how much stock remained (although the store was still advertising the deal 10 hours later). Perhaps a helpful Oz Bargainer can provide more info?

Oh yeah, first post, be rough and tear me a new one.

  • Is it best before or use by?

Since if it says Use By on the bottle then it is illegal to sell it, However if it says Best Before then as long as it is fine for human consumption then it is OK to still sell it.

    • Corona has "Best before" dates.

Wow seriously $40 is the best Perth can do for off Corona's? Do you get super low price on little creatures at least to offset?

      No, unfortunately :/

      • $55 for a carton of Little Creatures Pale Ale here in Perth.

Ooo, for the 24 x 330ml carton? Best I've been able to find in the past is $60, same as when I visit the Eastern States. That said, these days I home brew :D

        • i got a carton of the 330mL bottles the day before Xmas from Dan Murphys $55.
prices must have been on special.
you can get a carton of the Pint Bottles for $50 from a few places here for $50 like Cellebrations in Bentley :)

just add some lime and you'll be right… cant taste any worse than it does! never understood why this was popular. .. guess the people who drink it are drinking their ciders now. Now time for a beer.

    • Easy drinking beer for non beer drinkers, especially when adding fruit - combine that with a fancy looking bottle and a decent marketing campaign.

Only really drank these out when chasing tequila shots/

    1. Beer doesn't really go off and if it does its well after the date
    2. It really should be cheaper, I have often bough near or past due and paid 30 or less for a case, sometimes a buck each for loose ones
