Where do you go to buy sports shoes?

I need a pair of cross trainers and a lot of people here say bad things about Paul's Warehouse. So where do I go?

  • Cross trainer?

Did you mean sport shoes? or exercise equipment??

If you need shoes, try FILA. They're on sale.

  • activinstinct.com. Only online but very cheap with free delivery if order >$100. Saved $150 versus instore (Athlete's Foot) prices for my Mizuno runners!

in DFO if you are in Sydney 75% off loads of choice….

  • Paul's Warehouse was in strife a while back for actually selling fake shoes as the proper brands. I've never really liked them because in any case, they don't usually stock the top tier models in each brand - sure they will have $50 nike and adidas shoes, but these are usually the ones frequently on sale for $60 or 70ish (and are a few years old)

If you're not in a hurry you can always try an outlet store like DFO or harbour town. Range is variable since they are all old seasons. You may not get the exact style you want in your size so often you either get something you dont 100% want or you walk away.

Other options are online shops like kitbag.com which frequently goes on sale. Again - have to wait for shipping and sales.

    So patience is key

Alternatively - if you really value exercise, splash out and go to a specialist store. In Adelaide there is a place called 'runner's world'. They have amazing staff. Don't usually have sales but they will put you in the best shoe for your money (ie if you are willing to spend $100-250) - at prices comparable to rebel or amart (not on sale)

    Good luck

  • I would not go with Fila. Had bad experience with them before

    • can you explain?
I'm about to buy a pair

      • Ordered a pair from them before and it came slightly worn when I first opened and inspected it. Tried several times to complaint about this and only after several tries did they agree to exchange. Not worth the hassle for me but maybe you will have better luck.

        • Thanks, I'll go to their store to pick a pair.

  • Fila is also sold at Target. I got mine on sale down from $60 to $40 & they're very comfortable. I've taken my dog on super long walks in the past week with no issues.

I prefer to buy my shoes in store as my luck with shoes in general is pretty poor ;-) These babies are great for the price though IMHO.

    • What model is your shoe? Are they cross trainers?

Athlete's Foot's current yearly sale is great for high quality Asics Gel shoes (especially the GT2000s and Kayano's) for $150-200. Best shoes your feet can have.

startfitness.co.uk. Have bought all sports shoes for the whole family there for the last few years. Ordering process is easy, deliver inside 2 weeks. At the checkout the VAT 17 odd % comes off. Plus there is usually a discount code floating around to get a further 5 - 10% off.
