Speakers to suit desktop computer $150 or under

ive narrowed it down to a couple and have a few questions im hoping someone can answer:

  1. creative gigaworkls t40 II - i like these but am worried about the bass? do they produce enough for casual music and movies, i watch a fair few movies

  2. swan m10's - have heard a lot and wonder whether they are worth the price and worth the trouble of sourcing them?

any other suggestions would be good too! thanks :)

  • +1 for logitech z623
Although $150 is pretty expensive for them, at one point Logitechshop had them for $100 and Officeworks price-beat for $95. Epic deal.

  • OP, did you want 2.1 or 5.1?

  • i thought about z623 but read somewhere that they are great for bass, but the speakers are not that clear, they dont have tweeters etc. im no audio expert but.

Stewballs im looking for 2.1 definitely :)

  • +1 z623s.

The Creative Gigaworks speakers are 2.0 not 2.1. They've also been out for several years (not that this makes them bad speakers).

I personally have the z2300s, which I have compared to Gigaworks t20, among other speakers, and blow them all out of the water. The clarity of the sound when you turn up the volume is astounding. Z623's are supposed to be the 'spiritual successors' of z2300s, so I would highly recommend them.

  • anyone have thoughts on the microlab soco 6c speakers?
