Cheap fare from Perth to Europe

Hi guys,

Going to Europe from mid September 2014 for 5 weeks.

Still not sure which airport I should fly to & return in Europe. Any suggestions?

Also, what sort of fares considered cheap during that period?

I have searched using kayak and skyscanner, cheapest i can find is around $1.4k return from Paris. Do you think i should wait longer for better deals in the future?

Thanks!

  • You can buy a promo ticket when scoot is on sale to singapore and thrm
Singapore airlines does promos for about 900 dollars to Europe.

    • sorry mate, couldn't find that deal on SA website, how did you search?

      • It's not on sale yet but it often is that price when they're on sale. However, I searched sky scanner and return trip to Paris from singapore via saudiarabian airline is $909.

        • when do you reckon the sale usually start based on previous experience?

  • sales come and go. I was about to book a $1500 Etihad return from Canberra to Dublin for May, and the sale ended on the 6th January. SO price just increase about $400. I'll wait for a while.

I recommend Etihad and I think they start flying from Perth middle of this year. Often there are promotional fares when someone starts a route.

If you can wait until 1st October to leave, you can get a return from Perth to Paris for under 1600, with only one short stop (Abu Dhabi). The return flight is 19 hours and 15 minutes, you lucky sod. (Prices drop on 1st October. September is a fair bit more expensive.)

When I was checking Open Jaw prices a few days ago they were no more expensive (open jaw is flying to one airport and back from another).

There are no credit card surcharges with Etihad, all taxes and other costs are included, so the price you see is generally the price you pay.

    • Thanks for the head up..guess i'll just wait then..i could go in Oct too i guess…no real date set anyway

    • How do you find open jaw prices?
It looks like it costs more when you purchase one way trips to europe from australia

  • $1.4k return to Paris is pretty good, mate. You might wait and save a little, but I'd be booking that now and avoid paying closer to $2k when all the cheap fares get booked up.

    • actually i take that back, that was from singapore…not from Perth

  • I booked last week tickets to paris from perth for approx 1250 pp
flying to KL with air asia, stay overnight and then fly with emirates to paris with a 5 hour layover in dubai. same journey on return although only 8 hours in KL between emirates landing and air asia taking off (might be worried if it was the other way around, but I figure emirates are pretty reliable).
air asia includes 30kg each on the way out and 30 & 40kg on the way back
emirates airfares are on sale until 19 jan so may be higher after that date (they have no blackout on sales fares from KL in April like they do out of oz)

    • thought of using the same options too. But just hate to have two long stopovers in two different places..don't forget you have to factor in the cost of hotel for the stopover into the total cost of flight…plus i really don't wanna waste too much time on stopovers.

  • Absolute dead cheapest way of getting there would be………

Find a cheap Scoot Airways sale flight to Singapore for about $119
Catch the train from Singapore up to Bangkok BUT BOOK IT ONLINE because its expensive to buy tickets in Singapore compared to online but you have to wait until its within 60 days of when you intend on traveling. I think this is like $20 or something crazy like that.
Fly Norwegian airlines from Bangkok to Oslo for $258USD so $293AUD.

And there you are, in Europe for less than $500!
If you could get a cheap flight to Bangkok with AirAsia then it'd be a million times more convenient and still cheap as!
