Durex B Close Condoms 6 Pack $1.99 at Woolworths (33 Cents Each)

450

Yes, it's a tee-hee deal for Condoms - but seems like a pretty good price - $2 for a six pack! = 33 cents each. Not as cheap as free or Grocery run deal - but you don't have to buy 144 at a time (but 23c each is good price)

Yes, you can get cheaper other brands/varieties eg from Chemist Warehouse = 27.5cents each so depends on what you like. (and yes, see what Other People Bought!!!)

Not listed on their website, but noticed in-store. Pic is a bit blury trying to sneak a quicky.. wait no.. guys, you're dirty. We can keep this clean and mature..Come on.. … wait no.. oh dear…

Ok.. I'll start the deal listing again: I don't know the in's and out's of condom pricing…

This might be a store specific deal. Which branch did you spot this?

    • +1

      Hornsby (far north Sydney!)

      • +7

        More like "horny"

        • +1

That's a different suburb in the south..

        • +7

          Obligatory comment.

    • +2

      Saw in Melbourne/Oakleigh as well.

  • awefully cheap, i bet theyre thick as

    thats most important

    • +17

Thick is no good, it's like eating with a blocked nose.

    • +4

Don't know. Doesn't mention and I don't have my digital callipers near by..

  • +9

That's my quota for next 6 years.

    • +82

maybe if you put out a bit more you might get the upgrade to mrs

      • +1

        lol

      • +4

but then this deal would be useless since she'll never put out ever again

      • +1

That would be a downgrade rather than an upgrade.

        • Speak for yourself, heh, heh, heh. :-p…….

    • +1

      They expire in 3?

  • -1

we shouldn't forget to mention the 15% failure rates (with typical use) with these babies…

    • Condoms in general or these specific ones? Link?

        • +2

Those rates are crazy, with a correctly fitted condom I've never had a failure. I thought all blokes had the class in high school showing you how to measures yourself, then read the box and find one that fits.
It's not that hard people (pun intended).

        • +9

The PDF says "United States" so I guess those figures only account for US and is not a worldwide figure.

Also note that "perfect use" [may also mean buying the correct size] — this is something that isn't taught in high school — condoms will tear easily if there is too much wiggle room, so while you gents might be buying XXL size to impress the checkout chick at Woolies, you might actually be increasing your partner's risks of pregnancy, so be responsible :)

        • +3

The Australian therapeutic guidelines quote 2% for perfect use and 15% for typical use.

Compated to 0.3 to 8% for oral pill

        • +16

Condom or not, I've had plenty of failures…

        • +1

if i master the pull out then im set for life

        • +1

They might need to provide a sample you can try on in the shop to make sure it fits well ;-)

        • +1

Get it wrong and you're "set" for life too. Ask me how I know!

        • +2

          It's not that hard people

Actually, it is difficult if not hard!

        • Maybe you did have failure, but the girl/s all didn't want you hanging around. (Sorry, just a thought, LOL!)

There's a school that 'taught' you to measure willys!?

        • I guess you didn't go to a boys school?

        • I've had the opposite problem, I couldn't keep it up! Some condoms are so small they feel like someone's put a rubber band around your wang… twice!

        • Ah, so THAT'S what they do in those schools while we were standing underneath stairs and the monkey bars peering up girls' skirts.

      • +2

So generally. 18% according to the link with typical use. (higher than i recall hearing previously) 2% with perfect use.. so practice practice.. :-)

      • +1

In general. .. no idea about about these in particular.
If one was giving advice… I would probably tell them to say that condoms are only appropriate (this is purely statistically. .. no religion/morals/ethics etc) for a couple who don't want to fall pregnant but would be ok if they did.

I'm speaking about contraception mind you… they are also still important from an STI point of view. ..

        • +4

What's this got to do with Subaru's? :) Oh… they make you go faster! I get it.

  • +20

True OzBargainers buy a 20c one in a service station bathroom and reuse it. Mine's hanging out on the clothesline as we speak.

    • +1

when they are the servo cheap ones, it's better to rinse it out and let it dry while you're wearing it so it keeps its shape

      • +1

        Yours changes shape? Wow.

    • +10

20c? Aren't they like $2 each. When was the last time you bought one?

      • +33

        Joeflacco didn't say new.

        • +8

If it's from a service station it's probably a retread

    • or just go to a hospital/clinic with a big bag and take as many as you want… thats what i do

    • +4

University student unions or just any old sexual health clinic should have them for free

      • +2

'old sexual health clinic' - This painted a scary visual in my head.

    • +1

Ah yes, wouldn't be a proper OzBargain condom thread without a 'I reuse mine" joke :P

      • Erm, you do know where you are… right?

What makes you think they're joking!

    • +2

I find it best when reusing to just turn them inside out and shake the f*** out of them.

  • b close to getting your gf pregnant with these cheap condoms. winning!

  • Hell yeah. Instead of hiring 1 classy hooker I can now hire 12 fatter ones!

    • Gang a jang.

  • +3

True ozbargainers use grocery bags for free

    • +9

I'm finding that all grocery bags have holes in them these days, and make terrible garbage bags even.

    • +2

Don't use the biodegradable ones in that case, you can reuse the green ones many times however ;-)

  • +2

    Handy for Pattaya….

    • +5

You don't need a condom if you're just getting a handy.

  • +1

29 comments in and no jokes about these being a "close fit" ie for a smaller package. 52.5mm nominal width smaller than average.

    • Put the packet in hot water, then it will stretch enough to fit over your head

    • +1

Maybe none of us know what "close fit" means, as we've never bought them… ;)

    • +2

Funny how people want their clothes tag to show "small" and their condoms to show XXL ;-)

      • +1

        You mean HALF the people.

  • +2

sweet, got my lifetime supply of condoms thanks OP

  • +2

    '+' for the description

  • +9

    It's a hard one.

Not sure if I can be bothered getting up for this deal.

    I might come around eventually.

    Screw it! I'm in!

  • If unsure of use follow the link to kipkays video :)

  • -1

I don't think most ozbargainers would even get the chance to use these.

    • With my username maybe I should start.

  • +3

50 posts in & no-one's come up with a : More "bang" for your buck comment… looks like we're all growing up, after all ;)

I'm reporting you to Prof. L. Lactic

  • +12

I only come to these posts for the comments. <3 the community.

    • +4

      me too :).

i was already smiling before I clicked on it, knowing full well that 57 comments made was surely going to entertain… and i wasnt disappointed :).

is there nothing OzBargain cant do!?!

    • +2

The real ozbargainer would wait to take up offers like these and then come !
      (otherwise it's a bit premature)

  • -1

perfect for my one night stands - should last me a couple weeks

  • +1

Not sure what the graphic on the box means…

    http://www.durex.com.au/products/condoms/b-close/

    But this is great:
"The special way we make our condoms means they smell better".

  • +2

I wasn't interested in this deal, but I thought the comments would be funny.

    lulz

  • Photo's a bit blurry…rushed snap before anyone sees aye? Haha

  • +1

Now all we need is a cheap lube special, because most of us on Ozbargain are… let's face it… tight arses!

  • Maybe this one is tastier ;-P

    http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/111284/20540/durex_spec…

bought this for $5 in my local Woolworth just now. 12 pack with strawbarry flavour lube.

    • So … does it taste like strawberry? :)

  • Not a bargain. OP never stated that a pre-requisite was to have a partner - and they cost money, so is this really a bargain? What if you're single and only have your right hand? Negged.

    • imagine how much you'd save on tissues!

      • Eh!? If your girlfriend cries when you get out a condom, I'd be taking a HARD look at yourself.

  • threading error, please delete?

  • EXPIRED Durex B Close Condoms 6 Pack $1.99 at Woolworths (33 Cents Each)
