Big W Click and Collect

I just rang a Big W store to see if they have stock of a product I am after. They told me they did buy the price they quoted was much more. After pointing this out the person I was talking to just said you have to order online to get that price.

So I asked if I can order click and collect and then… collect it. I was told that click and collect stock needs to come from a warehouse and they do not use floor stock for this. I find this curious and highly unlikely.

Anyone else had similar problems? I didn't specially ask but the lady did not want to price match (their own) online store.

  • that is also how target works.

you (sometimes?) even get the auspost tracking of the parcel from their warehouse to the pickup store chosen!

  • Australia's lowest prices everyday.

At BIG W our commitment is to offer you “Australia’s Lowest Prices Everyday”. If by chance you should find an identical item currently advertised at a lower price by another store, we guarantee to match the price on the spot. Just present the competitors current advertisement or ask an associate to verify the price. BIG W will price match any product that is identical to the same brand; the same model number or style; the same weight. Excludes clearance or wholesale items; online sales; soiled and damaged stock, liquidation sale offers; member or club prices; second hand, floor stock, end of line, ex demo or similar; and a price printed in error.

    • This is an online sale, so sure they can deny it, but it seems like a bad idea to me.

      • It also say lower price at another store. Since the online store is still Big W, I don't think they will price match. ToysRus also have the same policy. They do not price match their online store but will price match a competitor. This sort of makes sense as price matching is a way of taking a sale away from a competitor. As far as them not able to use floor stock for Click & Collect orders, that is correct too.

  • This is a pain when it comes to online ordering with BigW; I cancelled my order for XBox after learning about their slow delivery.

  • BigW click and collect is horrible. Yes, they'll dispatch stock from their warehouse regardless of whether the store has it in stock.

Also, if you order click and collect and they then drop the price in store before you collect they will refuse to price match. Their online store claims not to have the price match policy that their 'real' stores have.

To make it worse once the order has left the warehouse they'll tell you the only way to cancel is to pick it up in store and walk it to the customer service desk.

    Avoid it at all costs.

  • +1

I just did a pick up. I got returned items (can tell from the packaging), and out of the 2 items, one of them is slightly scratched, and the other was the wrong item in the packaging.
