Advice on hotels in Surfers Paradise (QLD)

I'm planing a trip to Surfers Paradise this year at the end of July, though we're having trouble choosing hotels.

I'm looking for a two bedroom apartment, for 7 nights for under $1,000.

I'm looking for a high standard hotel, good reviews, nice rooms.

If anyone have any insight in what hotel to choose or if they need more information just ask :)

Thanks.

  • I would like similar quality for 4 nights late March.
    Thank you for any tips.

I prefer Broadbeach to Surfers Paradise, it has more to offer, Casino, shopping, restaurants etc and is only 5 mins taxi sth of surface paradise, which is full of sleazy nightclubs and bogans.
Try the Phoenecian, it's not to expensive and has good facilities and is in an ideal location close to everything.

  • Thoroughly recommend Emerald Sands, right by the sand with no roads to cross. Great ocean views from every room. We've stayed there 3 times and are going back again soon. Sub penthouse room 7b is the pick of the 2 bedroom apartments.
Its 1/2 way between Surfers and Broadbeach so easy walk to each. 2 sets of flagged areas on the beach to choose from.

Surfers is very cheap at the moment due to the high AUD but it won't last too long.

  • We got a 2 br fully SC apartment at the Hilton on the Wotif mystery deal for under half price. We are here at the moment with wonderful views and great location. It wasn't hard to work out it was the Hilton from the description. Check it put and see. Good luck.

    • Looks good, but currently not on offer as a Wotif mystery. Hotel search engines approx $297 per night, or direct with hotel $330. :o( I will keep monitoring.

  • Hi Wagzy (Mantra Rep here),

If you are considering any of the Peppers, Mantra, or BreakFree hotels in Surfers Paradise, the best way to get deals our brands is by joining clubcusoon.com.au or gaining access to departurelounge.com.au. On these sites we offer deep discounts on long stays and it's well worth checking out.

There will also be our traditional large annual sales that are about to come up in Feb for BreakFree and Mantra - the rates and travel periods haven't yet been locked down, but expect some great deals to come out of the first 3 - 7 days of the sale.

  • Clubcusoon prices are not all that attractive. Especially when you factor in that they are 100% non-refundable. However I will wait for the sale to see if those prices are attractive enough to offset the 'no refund' risk. Note the 2% credit card surcharge. (But 'Polipay-ing' avoids this)

  • Look on eBay. You can deal directly with apartment owners and get a way better deal at some of the classier apartment buildings.

  • www.livingsocial.com has a deal going for 4 nights 2 br apt. at Moorings on Cavill $529 but if you go to Living Social through www.cashrewards.com.au you will get a rebate of approx 6% (note by going thru cashrewards you will be billed in $US and so beware of creditcard conversion fees). Moorings on Cavill is well rated on tripadvisor.
