Help in regards to sell motorbike

Hi Bargain Experts,

I have a quire in regards to a motorbike which I brought from a dealer (CFMoto - CF250) and is a automatic gear cruiser bike. Since I bought a car, I have stopped using bike, and want to sell it.

I have put ads in gum-tree many times and somehow was not able to pull off the sale. I know people show much interest in getting a bike in summer but didn't have many calls in my case.

Now here is my question does anyone had same situation with selling their bike if so, how did u guys dealt with it.

I have put price about 2/3 of the present market value and was also wondering if it is a better idea to give it back to the dealer I have bought for very low price?

Thanks guys really appreciate your time.

    Put it up on bikesales?

Not sure, but I usually don't go to Gumtree to buy bikes.

    • thx for the comment, ill put an ad in it.

      • Beware, I think you may have to pay a fee to advertise.

  • Hey,

Most bikes on GumTree sell pretty quickly if they're in demand and popular. This is most of the case if the bikes in good condition with decent mileage.

If you're selling 2/3 of present market value, it might be wise to take in to a dealership to get a quote by them. They're not the best way to sell as you lose money as opposed to selling via private seller. If the quote is similar to your current offer price, probs go with the dealer!

      hey buddy,

i dont think its a very demanding bike, but people always call to lay hands on it and also a head turner on streets.

I might talk to the dealer tomorrow and see what he has to offer, thanks for the support.
      Cheers

  • If you can't get enough people interested on gumtree then I don't know where on earth you're gonna get better results. I'd prefer buying it off ebay if I was buying a bike from a private seller (although I did buy my GS500 off an ad on Gumtree and I have no regrets). Maybe your next investment should be on a Suzuki or Yamaha as their value won't depreciate as much and have a great reputation.

  • I use bikesales, gumtree and facebook to buy & sell bikes. It can take a few months to get the price you want, probably longer for something less in demand :'(
Would suggest not taking it to a dealer unless you're desperate for the cash.

  • there is also Quicksales.com.au col
