URGENT HELP with plumbing problem

Hi,
t
Today, I decided to connect the refrigerator waterline to the copper sink line. I turned of the main water supply and proceeded to cut the copper line however that proved difficult as it was very close to the wall so no space to cut it with the device…anyway the line was 1/4 cut and water started squirting out! Quickly I managed to duct tape it heavily and went ahead to turn on the waterline as the old folk needed water…But i dont think it will last for the night(started to driple alot now!)…Can i get advice on how to reduce the flow of water lost and any way to 'fix' it temporary for the weekend without getting a plumber.

Cheers

some air hose with a clamp on either end will help a fair bit if you have any around

good advice from ajh. if no clamp around, use a cut out section of garden hose, dissect one side, so to wrap around pipe tightly, then use metal wire to ligate.

turn the water supply off at the mains, open the front garden tape to relieve any water pressure in the pipe, then proceed with your surgery on the pipe. some water might still dribble out but it won't be under pressure.

  • Thanks guys!!! woke up at 6:30 am and ran to masters and got a repair kit and all is goo now :)
