Bunnings, the way these places get you, is with the must have chemicals. The way you get them, is make sure you have plenty of free time and do all your cars, couches and maybe go 1/2 with a friend/relation.

    • I THINK Bunnings only has Rug Doctor (?) but if I'm wrong and they also offer the Britax one, give it a miss.

Where ever you end up hiring a machine, definitely go with the Rug Doctor. It does a far superior job.

  • My local Coles has the machines fairly cheap, but as ilostnemo pointed out, they expect you will buy the cleaning chemicals there… That said however, woolwash laundry detergent will do the job on your carpets just as well… at least on my carpets… and it's a whole lot cheaper (think $3 instead of $23).

  • I'm new to these cleaners so I have a quick question. Pretty much the entire house is carpeted, including the stairs. So is it practical to hire out one of these carpet cleaners and clean them all myself? Or is this sort of thing better done by those professional carpet cleaners you call out and who can be pretty pricey with charges?

It's fairly straight forward, and there's an upholstery tool that comes with it that you can use to do the stairs.
