460
VA50

For anyone coming to Brisbane (or locals) this is one of the better tourist attractions. The four beers at the end include some lesser known XXXX brews that are actually quite good. Don't just take my word for it though, it is ranked #6 out of 70 attractions on Tripadvisor.

Start your brewery tour in the XXXX Brewery Visitor Centre

Learn about the origins and history of beer
Hear the colourful history of XXXX
Walk through the heart of our heritage listed site

I imagine this would be like touring the lavatory at a music festival.

      • +11

This is a queenslanders power up juice. That's why we've won eight straight

        • +5

Mate, I'm Queensland born and bred and I still can't understand why anyone puts this (or VB for that matter) in their mouth.

        • yeah better off posing with some leffbruffen or ibuproffen or whatever the hell you pay a fortune for ahahah

        • +1

Typing the laughing noise you're making was a nice touch. I assume you also eat out of bins rather than posing with a sandwich or whatever the hell hipsters like me pay a fortune for ahahaha.

        • awwwwww those downvotes must have stung ahahaha

        • -1

They did, I'm broken up. But then I think about those 8 people, sucking down that horse piss and kidding themselves that a blokey advertising campaign and the word Queensland on the packaging makes it okay to drink this and I just cheer right up again.

        • -1

So that's all it was about? Someone feels threatened by "blokey" advertising? Figures.

        • -1

No, that I can't walk into 50% of pubs and order something that vaguely resembles a beer because Carlton and Castlemaine have convinced one segment of Australian men (through blokey backslapping advertising) that it's their patriotic duty to drink this piss.

More to the point, why are you so threatened by people who don't share your love of blokey advertising and dreadful beer?

          Sorry, nearly forgot.. ahahahahaha.

  • Price in total please

"The four beers at the end include some lesser known XXXX brews that are actually quite good."

    I bet you they're not.

    • +4

They have (or used to have) a stout or a dark ale which was only available at the brewery, it was really nice.

    • you know what they say about opinions and assholes…

      :)

      • Do they by any chance say 'anyone who thinks XXXX is anything other than undrinkable filth doesn't deserve to be allowed in a bar?'. Because they should.

  • +5

    QUEENSLANDER

  • +6

Pffft, I'm going to Duff Gardens instead.

    • +3

Can't get enough of that wonderful Duff.

      • +4

        Duff beer for me,
        Duff beer for you,
        You have a Duff,
        I'll have one too

The brewery tour would be cool, but for the shit excuse for beer they produce.

  • +2

    No discount for non-drinking 10-17 year-olds?

  • Good tour. Everyone up north loves 4x gold. IMO it's crap. Neg me please

    • +1

only because you asked nicely :)

    • "Everyone up north"

      He's from Tassie, ffs.

    $32 not $27!
    Booking Prices *
    Product: Classic Brewery Tour
    Per Adult $32.00
a non drinker adult is $23, probably no tasting included.

  • How do you book it with discount?
And is it only one person in a group that gets discount. The t's and c's are just so over the top and confusing … im sure it says something about surrendering first born child.

    • And is it only one person in a group that gets discount.

Umm, no! Book for 2 (or more,) put in the discount code and the price comes up with a total that equals $13.50 per person.

  • I have tried every which way to find the promotional code but? Can someone tell me what it is.
    Thanks

Why do queenslanders call it XXXX?

    Because they can't spell beer!
    :)

    • Original and witty. I like it.

  • it doesnt include lunch?

    • +1

No. There is a tour that includes a bbq lunch but it isn't eligible for the 50% off coupon. The tour finishes with 4 beers in the restaurant though so you could order something to eat.

  • +2

    Thanks so much! just booked

  • +2

Scytherbladez as clever as your comment may be (in your own mind) it doesn't explain why XXXX is still in business and profiting more every year. Perhaps it's a good beer? Perhaps it appeals to many? I'm proud to be a Queensland and looking forward to a tour of my State's beer factory. Thanks for the discount.

  • Thanks. Definitely going to the brewery of the greatest beer in the world. Those who don't like it should go back to England.

    • +1

You realise that's where we send the Fosters, right?

      • +2

        I saw someone drinking Foster's in a movie once…..

      • Best place for that pig swill

  • +1

Just did the tour this morning at 11am, was well worth the visit.

Works out at $3.40 a pot of beer, which is also really cheap if you just went there to drink.
If you were going to go to the pub any way it would be worth it just for the drinks.

  • +1

This is a genuinely great tour.

Have done it twice - once before they revamped it and once after. If you're even remotely interested in the history of beer in Oz and how it's made commercially (the brewery makes about 6-7 different beers from memory) it's worth checking out.
