Swapping my iPhone 5?

My iphone 5's battery basically drops from like 50% to 30% within about 10-15minutes of imessaging and facebook browsing etc. Also, at times the phone turns off at 20% and displays the charging icon and as soon as I plug in a charger, it turns back on and is at like 28% instantly..
the battery also decreases by like 10-15% just by being on standby overnight while i sleep… (no background apps/location services are on)

would I be able to take this into apple and get a replacement or something ? even though my warranty is out because this type of battery life is nothing near what theyre advertising..

You would think that you only have 1 year warranty however in actual fact there is a 2 year warranty for Apple products.

Go to the Apple Store. Like the previous poster said, the warranty is now 2 years for all Apple products.

  • I can't exactly remember if it's been 1 or 2 years but if it HAS been over 2 years, am i still entitled under australian consumer law/statutory rights?

and would I go to apple or the place I got my phone from ,ie; Optus store etc.

thanks for the help so far!

Go to Apple. If you're out of the 2 year warranty, it will cost you $95

  • Been last Gen, i don't think you'll find many iphone 5, if any, that's out of the 2 years warranty period.
