Custom Games are also now available in the Starter Edition.

If you ever liked Warcraft III custom maps and modes, Arcade mode is basically that. BUT FREE.

Step 1: Create an Account:

Step 2: Download Starcraft II Starter Edition:

Step 3: Launch the game and either click on ARCADE or CUSTOM GAMES.

Note: I personally haven't tried it yet, since my download speed is too slow and the game size after getting the launcher is 14.1GB

    EDIT: Oh wait, not all modes were f2p and some custom games couldn't be played before p2.1.

    Great game, hardest game ever though, if you're looking for a challenge try this out! How are the custom maps developing? Haven't played ant in a couple years, back then they were terribad though

    this is the only reason i got starcraft 2 years ago, the custom games.
    so much fun! only problem was lack population, so this should fix that.

      I hope so I pretty much havnt touched starcraft II for almost a year. Been on a few days 6 months ago…

      I think nowadays there are plenty of game engines/SDK available to make your own games.. So it will never have the same developer base as before as seen in Warcraft III
      some of these you can actually make a commercial profit from unlike modding in starcraft II so developers wont hang around for long
