Share Market Newsletters + Tips

Hi guys,

I am pretty keen to signup to a share market research newsletter, one that looks at the market and makes recomendations on 'buys'.

Currently I receive the Fool.com.au free newsletter.

They have a sign up link to get it for $199 instead of $250+ or something but not sure whether it is worth it.

Any thoughts? Any experience with Fool.com.au or other share market newsletters that are paid for?

Any advice welcome.

Cheers,

B

  • I use to get the Rivkin Report years back - before he chopped himself. Good mentor - not.

  • Huntleys has been around for a long time - http://www.morningstar.com.au/Stocks/Huntleys

You might still get a 4 week free trial to the full newsletter.

  • Alan Kohler does the daily finance report on ABC TV news. He has great charts.

He is part of the "Eureka Report" - which has a free trial.

Robert Gottliebsen is also part of the team, if you can understand his cryptic messages.

There's other gurus like http://www.noelwhittaker.com.au/ who has been around for ages.
Hey, and Ross Greenwood from channel nine who knows nought.

  • I'm with the Eureka Report and can recommend them. Lots of good general advice and stock tips as well.

The Intelligent Investor is also worth checking out. They have a 14 day trial period, though they are a bit more pricier than other companies.

can few people share one subcriptions? maybe not login at the same time but can always download pdf and share via email?

  • Would anyone be interested in sharing a membership to FOOL.com.au ($199 for 12 months) with me?

We could get a few people in perhaps.?!

Shares in a membership - I like your entrepreneurialism.

  • Hi batman, not exactly what you are looking for but I recommend following the share research of the professional investment firms like Perpetual, Integrity, Schroders, PM Capital, Hyperion, Perennial, IML, Goldman Sachs. If you just google these names then you should easily be able to find their latest monthly commentary which should have recent buys, sells and active overweights/underweights. You won't get outright "buy" and "sell" recommendations but you will get a much higher quality of research than the typical share research " tip sheets" and it's free.

If I were to go down the paid subscription path for what you are after then I would choose between Huntleys or Intelligent Investor. Ultimately, though I believe their is no substitute to reading widely and then making your own decisions.
