If this guy lived in Oz... I reckon he'd be a member of OzBargain...

Hungry?

Somebody in the comments on the page suggested that he could be the 'patron saint of OzBargain'. I'm not sure 'saint' is quite the right word…

  • I asked this same question a couple of year ago. The consensus was you couldn't get away with it Australia due to you having to check in to the flight.

    • In, around, and about, I'm sure some related rorts are feasible in Oz, Neil.

Baggage handlers - someone needs to ask some baggage handlers…

Be it smuggling you in, or food out, if there are any workable dodges, I suspect they'll know.

    • Also I can't think of a first class lounge in an Australia airport that isn't a pain to get to. Would cost more to travel there everyday. Unless this guy had a way to live in the airport, saving rent. That would be a neat trick.

      • My money's on a possum being able to do that…

        • I'm working on a shrinking ray machine. First I'll try it on some pollies. :)

        • No! Priorities, gp. Shrink prices first!!

        • I'm working on an expanding ray machine too and I'll test it on income. :)

        • Kickstarter campaign with exclusive possum perks? Consider me onboard, verdant and furry one.

    • Factoring in the costs to get to the airport, at least in Sydney and Melbourne, and there isn't much in it even if you could. In many of the regional airports the food isnt that flash anyway.

In the old days you could use the lounges if you were member of the lounge, even if you weren't flying. It still wasn't worth it unless you were or were meeting someone who was because of the airport transport costs.

  • Just curious….. What's the cheapest first class flight you have ever seen? Do they ever go on sale?

  • Yeah that's something to be proud of omg.
I already find it ridiculous how some try to bargain for everything.
Australians tend to complain about prices but not about the high wages - and then happily spend all there money on drinking without complaining.

  • +1
  • Probably not feasible with the international first class lounges, but maybe with the domestic business lounges?
