Abel's enclosed truck is going for $79/day. A couple of years ago it was $49/day from Monday to Thursday. Not sure if you can still get that deal nowadays. It comes with hydraulic tail lift, which is extremely handy. Not that difficult to drive either. http://www.abel.com.au/vehicles/truck-hire

If not with Abel just look around for another good deal with this type of vehicle, you will thank yourself for it almost immediately.
FWIW, I actually own a ute, but I still hire one of these when I have to move anything significant! :)
Hire a ute from bunnings for 24 hours, $65. Pay fuel, $20 to reduce insurance excess and $200 refundable bond.
