My vote goes to the ASUS unit, since it comes with Office, but that's about the only reason. The ATIV comes with a stylus… that may be useful for note-taking if you don't have a keyboard dock.

I have not played with any of these 2 devices yet, so I can't tell you which is built better.

Asus uses the newer faster Bay Trail CPU, which is apparently a big improvement over the older one the Samsung uses. My girlfriend used to use a VivoTab Smart which used the same processor as the Samsung, and it is quite slow at times.

As mentioned above, the ATIV has a big advantage because of the S-pen if needed.

  • USB 3 + MSoffice has to be a bonus for ASUS and lighter 1/2 kilo (unless dock is excluded)$529 on staticice
but SAMSUNG has SSD - $399 from same store

    Let us know your verdict.

  • I don't have experience with the Asus, but I do know there are a lot of issues with the Samsung ATIVs because of the hinges.

    • Yeah, search YouTube for the Ativ hinge problem, every time you push back or even touch the screen it connects/disconnects keyboard and makes that ding-dong sound, prices being equal the T100 is the pick
