Civ 5 - PC vs Mac

Just wondering if you guys would be able to help me out with this:

if I buy the MAC key and register it to my steam account, it should still work on a PC shouldnt it?

It does have this disclaimer:
Steam account required for game activation and installation. This product is compatible with both Mac and PC!

I just want to be sure before i accidentally throw away $8 on a version I cant play.

Yeah if it activates on steam it will work for both via steam.
When you put the key into steam, you get the game on steam, not the one on their store etc.

  Some Keys will only work for PC if they are bought for PC and you can't download the mac version if you bought the pc one. Torchlight for example is one of these, 2 keys for windows version, can not download on my mac. (I don't know if Civ 5 is one, but I know some do although you prob know this)
