Virgin Atlantic Stops Flights Between SYD and HKG after 5th May 2014

Just letting everyone know that I saw on the news that Virgin Atlantic would be stopping flights between Sydney and Hong Kong from the 5th May 2014.

I had a booking to Hong Kong in mid September and when I called, they were offering refunds through the initial payment method or to rebook the flight on a different airline (My option was Cathay Pacific but I'm not sure if they are all going to be the same).

  • Get the refund and go book yourself on a different airline.

    Don't let VA rebook you.

VS* VA is Virgin Australia ;)

@OP Yes, Virgin Atlantic have decided to axe to the SYD-HKG route for good since it isn't meeting their profit expectations. HKG - LHR is still running however.

both qantas and cathay have sales on now — if you can get a refund and then buy a cheaper ticket its a win :)
