Headphones / earphones for around $70

Current earphones died out.

JVC HAFX1X Headphone Xtreme-Xplosivs - had these, build quality was complete crap. Will not buy again/10

Happy to spend up to around $70.

I've had sennheisers and they were good, normally died out after about a year but then i just claimed on warranty.

Would prefer earphones as I use them when walking around a bit so nothing too bulky. I wouldnt complain about the slimmer headphones

Any suggestions?

thanks

  • Soundmagic E10/E10M are great. They feel lovely, sound great… but I've had a 50% failure rate so I'd suggest buying from Australian retailer.
    Australian source: $49 (E10, no mic) or $59 (E10M with mic) http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=756
    MP4nation E10M - $39 if you don't mind purple http://www.mp4nation.net/soundmagic-e10-iem-earphones-purple… or black - http://www.mp4nation.net/soundmagic-e10m-iem-earphones-with-…

Brainwavz S1 IEM Earphones - I got these for $34.50, which was a great price. Flat cables, come in a nice carry case, have comply foam tips. I don't love them, but they're quite nice sounding, especially for the price I paid. They don't come with a mic, which was a rookie mistake on my part. Currently $60 http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-s1-iem-earphones

BRAINWAVZ Beta IEM Earphones w/ In-Line Microphone - DO NOT BUY. NOT EVEN FOR $15. Arrived broken, bad sound, cheap/poor build quality.

    • I love my betas, used them near daily for over a year, just chuck them in my work bag, sound great IMO AND are one of the few iems I have that don't fall out constantly. Agreed they appear to be cheaply made but doesn't mean they are all broken. Top 3 under $20 for me.

      • We ordered two pairs, both arrived with glue already failing. Within two months both were broken, but I'm glad yours work still :)

    • I had a pair of those for the last two years until recently where one side started to play up. Paid $60 for it at the time - overall pleased with the sound quality and despite it being run over by my chair a few times, it held up quite well.

I'm sure there are probably better sets for around that price but the CX300's aren't a bad choice.

Currently using a-JAYS One+, I find that sound quality is reasonably similar to the CX300's that I had except with greater bass. They're $59 at Officeworks.

      • I've had two pairs of the CX300's, both died in the same way (one side stopped working)

        • This is my problem. My last 4 sets have had the left side die out. I thought it was just me but i guess its a problem with all sets

        • On the bright side, they tend to fail within warranty!

  • My suggestion v sonic gr06.
