I believe this has been discussed many times in these forums. It's close to impossible to compare car insurance prices across different companies, as there are far too many variables to consider.
There's so many variables involved in (car) insurances, it's near about impossible to compare them, let alone list one as a 'bargain'
I don't believe I will ever see a day when car insurance can be classed as a bargain in the real sense.
They will no longer match/beat if you are an existing customer and just looking to renew with them. They did do this for me for a few years but December 2013 they would not any more and wouldn't even match the price. Just a flat out no. Also wouldn't do it for a new vehicle in addition to my existing one.
Offer only applies to Queensland and Tasmania.
I couldn't even get NRMA to pricematch BudgetDirect…who came in at almost half of the NRMA quote for essentially the same cover…good luck getting them to knock an extra 10% off anything! ;)
To be fair, when they did match, they got down from their price of about $1500-1600 down to matching AAMI's price of $950 odd and then took 10% off that. They did have to get it approved but did it without too much fuss for I think three years in a row.
