Logged in Amazon and it showed a price drop, though it has been at this price previously with some interest. The Neato is arguably the best robot vacuum along with the LG Roboking. Unlike the Roomba (aka ping pong), they plot a cleaning pattern. They do however sometimes suffer from build quality issues, but parts are readily available and there is a massive Whirlpool thread for support. Apparently a laptop charger will solve the US to AU power issue.

The Amazon cart price is US$339.97 including delivery and I used XE to convert to AU$

        • Yes saw it. In NSW.

  • +1

Mine is at Changi, Singapore. Next stop Perth! ( I hope)

  • I, for one, welcome our new robotic overlords.

Received mine today! Placed the order on the 8th of Feb, that was fast!

    • Would have got mine today too, but it encountered a problem. The invoice wasn't attached to the parcel therefore it couldn't be exported. I relayed that information to Amazon via the chat but they assured me it's not a problem, even though the rep at UPS said it was stuck in Canada till they got an invoice.
In the end I forwarded my invoice to UPS via their chat and it's now back in transit, currently in SYD and delivery is expected for tomorrow. So all good in the end.

  • Mine arrived in Brisbane today… 4 days from order is pretty impressive. And the Neato is impressive too - cleaning my house now!

  • Received in Geelong today, happy with it.

By the way TGG has Samsung Navibot light for $384, how does it compares to Neato?

  • Ordered Sunday and received this afternoon. Easily the best valentines present I have ever given myself! This thing is awesome, really fun to watch. I'm very impressed with the way it moves around objects.

    • the best valentines present I have ever given myself

If I gave my valentine a vacuum she would be most displeased…

  • Arrived yesterday very quick delivery !!

Also seams to be able to hypnotise ppl aswell

  • I am quite impressed. It scans the rooms and systematically cleans every part of the house. A Roomba by comparison moves around randomly, missing spots everywhere. It's like a different league in terms of performance, yet some reviews don't seem to appreciate that.

  • I bought my neato on amazon based on this deal. Shipped fast and seems powerful but is a real disappointment. Gets "marooned" on the chrome bases of my bar stools. Freaks out near coffee table and lounge asking for its path to be cleared. The crazy thing is my house is large and rather empty. It has never ventured near the dining room crumbs yet because of the hiccups that occur and it is very loud on tiled floor. Trying to schedule its run time to not only be successful but when house is empty.

    • Return it, Amazon will pay for the shipping and in my case they sent out the replacement (and I received it) before sending mine back so I didn't have to go without the Neato for too long. Just speak to them on live chat.

What you described shouldn't happen, I had a somewhat similar issue with my first one with it getting stuck on very thin rugs or asking path to be cleared now and then for very trivial things. My replacement hasn't had any issues at all, never got stuck on a rug, everytime I turn it on, it has completed without drama when I get home.

    • Mine is occasionally intelligent, but occasionally it will go to the same place a few times. However, it is still far better than the Roomba ones which random bounce around without any guarantee that they cover all spots.
I also noticed that the chrome legs of my sofa confuse it. Undoubtedly the lasers reflect of it, giving an incorrect distance reading. But I can live with it.

Yes, it's noisy. But have you felt how much air comes out the back? I rather have a noisy one with the suction of a normal vacuum than a quiet one with the suction of a dustbuster. It's the most powerful robotic vacuum in existance, so the noise is to be expected.

Yes Choice magazine currently rate it as the best suction on carpet, albeit noisy compared to LG or Samsung.

Yes mine goes to the same places as well. I wonder if LG and Samsung are any better.

    • Let us know how you go livsa (returning/fixing it). My house sounds similar to yours and my neato works perfectly. Navigates its way around the perimeter of a room first and then works its way across in lines. Navigates around any obstacles. Exceeded my expectations.

    • I've found that after a while you work out how to 'neato-proof' the house. If I can be bothered, I might also put some chairs up off the floor as it means it can clean the floor quicker as well as does a better job. You can always use the magnetic strip to prevent it from going into that area. I also had some bar stools with shiny round bases that would freak it out, but I found moving them closer together seemed to help.

So it's not totally set and forget, but that couple of minutes spent doing a quick tidy up prior to hitting the 'go' button is still way better than spending an hour pushing a manual vacuum around the house.

As for noise - yes it is loud, but then again it's doing the job of a real vacuum cleaner rather than many other robot vacuums that are more like sweepers. Not saying they're bad, just that the Neato is one of the best out there. Make sure that you're not using the beater that's all silicon - that is known to be very noisy on non-carpet surfaces.

My only other suggestion would be checking that it has the latest firmware - you can check that via the menu on the Neato and then comparing that online, or simply connect it up to your pc via a usb cable and run the update from the website…..

I will say I don't use the schedule option though - I have kids and if it ran without my doing a quick scan of the floor first it would almost certainly end up with a few lego minifigs and who knows what else in its stomach at the end of the run. One morning I found it hadn't been able to dock as it had semi-eaten a sandal.
