Selling at $109 is nearly double what most shops retail these for

Nearly double yes, but it is still Retail in Aus. A very good bargain in my opinion. Have been after one for a while now.

These usually sell for about $50-70 depending on the shop.

I prefer Lukey air filters (made for most Commodores, Falcons and a few other cars) as they have high air flow and are also reusable after cleaning with water.

The problem I've had with K&N is if you use too much oil then you are blocking the air flow, excess oil can ruin airflow meters and if you don't use enough then you are sucking in dust.

Lukey doesn't use oil on their filters and they are also Australian made, I think the last one I bought was about $30 from Bursons and it cleaned up like brand new every time I washed it with 2 years of use unntil I sold the car but I'm sure it had many years left in it.

K&N filters will cost you about another $10+ on top of their filter price for their spray on oil and another $10+ for the spray on cleaner as well.

Overall not a bad price if you absolutely have to have a K&N filter but just letting others know of other options.

I normally buy my K&N filters off amazon been doing it for years.. way cheaper than any store i found online or locally.

    These supercheap prices are good.

    • I've done the same as well. And also oil filters and spark plugs. WAY cheaper on Amazon, even with shipping.

      • yep same with oil filters :)

  • Had K&N air filters in every car I ever owned.

  • how much kW do i get at the wheels installing this?

    • Would be cheaper and you get more air flow by going without an air filter at all!

Cheaper to get K&N stickers for your front quarter panel, same performance increase ;)

  • That's frustrating. The one shown in the picture looks exactly like the one for my car (Suzuki Swift), but it's not listed. Rah!
Still, a good deal for those cars listed.

    • Looks like an American list. A 2003 Nissan Sentra is the same as a Pulsar here.

  • The Commo's 33-2116 should also fit Subaru's…with a tiny gap on either end.

  • I have a 94 honda civic hatch

Will this mod give me an extra 40kw

    • +1

If you're like most modded Honda drivers you'll claim it does anyway! ;)

      • The other question I was going to ask is will this make my civic sound like a turbo

        • Sorry, not likely.
I'd suggest hooking up a cheap PA system and trying something like this!
I'm assuming it's the BOV sound you want!
