  • Feel free to ask for more information on any of our products!

    • For unlocked hardware these sound pretty good..

    • When did self promotion become a bad thing in Australia? Don't be such a jerk.

  • -1

It's not just self promotion. $99.95 is an awesome price from a Siemens DualPhone and the headsets and ATAs are practically a steal. For anyone interesting in using VoIP to reduce their phone bills these products could be just what they need.

    • I think mynetfone hardware is similarly priced, BUT it is locked to mynetfone..

  • -3

Oh yeah, I took a look at the prices in detail.
    I mean, what a bargain!!!

Freshtel sell the Siemen C470IP for $149.95
    http://shop.freshtel.net/product.php?productid=16147&cat=252…

RYDA.com (Which in my opinion are more reliable) for $148.95
    http://www.ryda.com.au/Siemens-C470IP-Voip-Cordless-Phone-p/…

    Wow, I save $1…wait a minute…I'm losing a dollar???
    Huh, where's the bargain guys???

    • +2

Umm, if you read the post, you'd see that the Siemens F470IP is $99..
That's a $49 saving over RYDA and it's unlocked.. ie you can buy your service with whomever you choose..
The bargain is in reading the post!

F470IP is a different product to the C470IP, but you're the one who brought the C470IP into the debate..

      • -3

Yeah you're right the F470IP is different from the C470IP.

Might be unlocked but missing some features:

        No Gigaset.net info services.
        No Instant Messenging.

Might be worth mentioning this here, rather than in small print on the site.

        • +3

And those features are worth $49 to you? (or 33% of the cost of the product)

You're arguing that this deal is not a bargain and the basis of your argument is that a model not included in the bargain is $1 more than another site!!
and that a similar but ever so slightly crippled version of that same device is still not a bargain at $49 less!

    • Lol, RYDA don't sell the F470IP so i think he was trying to fool us.

      learn2read before you criticise.

  • $32 for an ATA and Freshtel accounts are free? This makes my futile resistance to VOIP break down without hesitation.

    • Yes - Freshtel accounts are free but you need credit to make paid calls (to non-Freshtel users). Some devices like the ATA and Headset include a credit voucher to get you started. After that's up you'll need to join a plan, or top-up a pre-paid account.

    • mynetfone Whirlpool deals are pretty decent too..
      http://mynetfone.com.au/offers/whirlpool

  • +2

Actually Freshtel are quoting $114.95 for the C470Ip on Whirlpool. Seems the wensite doesn't match this. Also be aware that the postage on some of the smaller items may be more than the item.

    • +1

There are 2 models available - the F470IP is $99.95 while the C470IP is $114.95.

  • It's kinda hard to tell since there are no technical specs, but can the ATAs run SIP or is it just IAX compatible?

    • The 3010 ATAs are IAX2 only - there's no SIP support.
You should be able to get the tech specs by clicking on the product. For example, for the 3010 ATA see:
      http://shop.freshtel.net/product.php?productid=16137&cat=0&p…

"can the ATAs run SIP or is it just IAX compatible" & "The 3010 ATAs are IAX2 only - there’s no SIP support."
      what does the mean?
BTW is there a shipping charge? Also, is the 3010 unlocked too? And are these the type that hook into the back of the routers?
      Ta

      • All the devices are unlocked, including the 3010 ATA. Shipping is automatically calculated based on your order and address - a single ATA should be about $12.50 anywhere in Australia. SIP and IAX are the two common protocol standards used in VoIP. This ATA supports only the IAX standard - which means your povider needs to support that as well or it won't work.

        • Bummer! Providers like Pennytel don't support IAX. I would certainly have considered this for the flexibility in case I was not satisfied with Freshtel.

          • @McLarenHonda: There are several other Australian VoIP providers that support IAX or IAX2 - and of course they are perfect for connecting to a home or business Asterisk box. If SIP is a must the Siemens phones work a treat and support up to 6 accounts per unit. Very handy if you use multiple providers and/or additional handsets.
