Dell UltraSharp U2413 or U2412M ?

I'm looking to replace my old 22" monitor.

I'm starting my masters in architecture this year and will be doing a lot of graphics work, both 2d 3d modelling and creating printed presentation boards.

I've had these 2 monitors in mind for some time now

UltraSharp U2413 24" (quoted $570)

UltraSharp U2412M 24" (quoted $300)

With there being quite a high price difference, is the U2413 worth it?

Is the high colour accuracy necessary for someone outside the field of processional photography?

Are there any other benefits like less eye strain etc?

Thanks

  • You can spend $400 and get a good 27" IPS panel delivered from Korea:

    • Personally, I reckon nothing beats the dell warranty though. So tempting to get those korean models but for not much more you can have a warranty-covered model here.

  • For me if I am spending $500+ on a monitor I would probably go for a 27" with 2560x1440 (like Kogan Cinema Display for $469+postage). Colour reproduction is probably not that useful comparing to resolution, if you are doing mostly CAD work.
