Just as I am looking for a new phone for myself, one of my relatives asked me to help find them the best price for the iPhone 5s 16gb (they want the gold colour) because they are always intrigued as to why I can buy stuff really cheap all the time (thanks to ozbargain). They are happy to pay the full price but any discount would be greatly appreciated.
I found a deal from dick smith for $819 for the 16gb gold except the special ends today and there is no stock anywhere around sydney. The next best is Big W at $858 except their stores seem to be out of stock as well.
I was also wondering if anyone had success negotiating a price instore at a jbhifi or even harvey norman.
If anyone could help out I would really appreciate it.

My suggestion is to wait for Big W to restock.
Negotiating prices on iPhones would be essentially pointless unless you're a good negotiator. ;) Any small discount you may get from buying online almost always means you're getting a grey import.
