  • I'm not sure if cheap and good value is really possible with outdoor furniture. The products stay out in the weather so will get worn pretty quickly if you cheap out too much. I splurged on a great quality table and chairs from TOFs (The Outdoor Furniture Store) and it was well worth it.
If you really want cheap and good value, I'd suggest that you go
    with second hand items.

  • I did this about six months ago, going to Bunnings and various outdoor furntiture shops with my budget for an outdoor setting going from $1,500 to $3,000 and then walking out and calling it quits. I turned to Ebay and ended up with 2 good brand new outdoor settings which gave me 2 x 2.5 seaters, 4 single seaters and 2 coffee tables for $800 delivered. This included extra cushions. Only hassle is they turn up in pieces in boxes and you have to build it all yourself. But the retailers import the same stuff from China, take it out of the box and build it for you so it looks nice and charge you double ++. You just have to be patient and wait for the right stock to be available on Ebay as it generally gets cleared very quickly.

    • Not all retailers do this. I have seen a cheap version of the TOFs space saving outdoor furniture (i.e., a replicae of the same model) and it is nowhere near the same quality as the one made by TOFs. I'm not sure where it is made but it is designed by the store (not just purchased) and is a far superior quality to what I've seen elsewhere - very smart design. I'm not saying that you should only go to TOFs but if you want new stuff I would. Better still if you can find it is ebay, gumtre, etc.

  • Visited super Amart, Auburn on the weekend. ..too many good options - decent price I guess than ikea n Bunnings. Any experience with buying at Amart?

  • Everytime I shop around for furniture I always seem to end up at Amart. Middle of the road quality for a cheap price, usually very satisfied with what I get.
