People selling PSN accounts on eBay

I found some ps4 digital codes on ebay and asked if they were the actual codes to download from the psn store, and the guy said it is an account that has the game.

Obviously staying away from it but how do these work, is it something to do with the new game sharing on ps4 or just simply stolen accounts/credit cards

also the guy has hundreds of positive feedback for them which is what is confusing me

  • I'm pretty sure what he's doing is called game sharing.
This process involves going onto his account accessing playstation store then going into download history and redownloading the game but onto another playstation platform!

I used to do this with my mate for call of duty map packs and it works
Sony has made a limit to how many playstations an account can be used on originally it was 5 however I'm sure they changed it to 3 console per psn account

    • I see, thanks for that info. It seems like a really easy way for people to scam sony if they are able to sell the things multiple times?

  • I'm pretty sure that the accounts are also gonna be closed down as the games are usually bought fraudulently.

Also the 3 consoles shared between include 2 PS3 systems and 1 PS4 so I don't believe its a game sharing racket. Either way, steer clear and report them, its dodgy.

    • Alright I'll report them to ebay, surprising that they have so much good feedback

I had a guy sell me a game and when I received the code it was a password to an account. I asked for a refund and he asked me not to report it if I did get a refund. After I received my money I reported him. I have no problem with sharing but selling is theft of a kind.

        • no idea why you just got negged..

and yes I agree definitely not something you want linked up on your consoles either

Some idiots obviously believe I should have respected the thief's demands and let him carry on selling goods several times over that he wasn't lawfully allowed to. They'll probably try selling on eBay as well now they've read this.
