Everyday Rewards Targeted Cash for Easter Gift Card Promotion (Woolworths supermarket and Woolworths online only)

I've just received my targeted email offer from Everyday Rewards. The Cash for Easter promotion is similar to other targeted gift card promotions that Everday Rewards have had in the last year or so. My offer is to spend $50 a week for 3 weeks for a $15 gift card. The qualifying spends start on Monday 24 February and the amounts can be spread over several transactions for each week.

I've been lucky in that the offer target is reasonable given my average weekly spend at Woolworths is $40 to $60 spread over several shopping trips. The offer isn't as generous as the targeted flybuys offer of $10 for a $50 spend in one transaction, but the Everyay Rewards offer is more flexible than Flybuys.

What do you think of the promotion and what offer did you get? Do you think they have targeted your account correctly? Will you be taking up the promotion and what is your opinion of it?

I juggle my spending between Woolworths, Coles and Aldi in order to get the best targeted offers from the two big loyalty programs. They can tell by my up and down spending levels that I don't do all my shopping at one place. I guess that's why they send me reasonable offers. They know they have to work hard to get me to shop with them.

  • I got spend $100 a week and get $20… meh

    • Me too. seems it's the time to open up another card!

    • I got the same offer.

      Not great, but oh well

I got spend $150 a week for 3 weeks and get $30. No thanks. Was much better to spend $100 at Coles over the weekend and receive a $20 on the spot. Woolworths really make it much more difficult with their "promotions"

    • Yep, I got the $150 / $30 offer. Gives me the shits that I have to spend three times as much as the OP to get only double the reward.

Not going to bother because of that. Sick of the manipulation and unfairness.

We also don't spend that much usually, probably only about $100 so it would be a fair jump to be spending an extra $50 a week for three weeks.

I juggle my spending between Woolworths, Coles and Aldi in order to get the best targeted offers from the two big loyalty programs.

alternatively have more than one account/card for each :)

    • Yes, I'm using that trick as well.

  • I do my shopping at Woolworths every week anyhow so always qualify for these offers. My wife got the same offer, but less spend for less cash. Seems like they look at your purchasing history and adjust the spend/reward based on what you have already been spending.

    • Yes. They want to stretch you to spend a little bit more than average, and encourage you to buy items from them rather than from the fruit shop, butcher or the other supermarkets. They may lose some of their profit (most of it in some cases), but they are trying to create long-term shopping habits.

  • The offer I got was spend $250 a week for 3 weeks to get a $50 card. This is reasonable for me as I have 3 people spending for me. (Just order an extra set of 3 keytags and give them to family/friends that shop at woolies anyway and dont care about joining the rewards program themselves)

I used this approach for about a year. One of my friends scanned all of her shopping on the same account number as mine. We shared the value of the gift cards between us when we redeemed our points. Eventually I found that the targets for the offers they sent us were too high so we now have separate accounts and I have separate accounts for all the members of our household. We get much better offers this way and many more bonus points.

I guess your strategy works if you get to keep all of the points and the gift cards but may still make the targets of the offers really high.

      • Did you get my reply on how to earn some extra QFF points- legally and with no/minimal spend?

        • Yes, thank you

        • Tell us all ?

        • It involves depositing money into an online poker account. The particular credit card I used treats the deposit as a purchase and not as most credit cards do- as a cash advance. So I pay no interest at all, and as its treated as a purchase, I earn 1 QFF point per $ I deposit. Then its a case of simply withdrawing the money immedietly from my poker account into my savings account, and voila free QFF points. But as I explained to pointscrazy, there can be a downside. (1) I gamble the money and lose it! and (2) I dont get a favourable exchange rate on the withdrawal and its costs me a little on the side. But if you have the patients to wait, the exchange rate can work in your favour, in essence earning free points AND being paid for them!

        • hmmmm. clever…

        • For this to work you would need a credit card with..

          No foreign transaction fee's
the same AUD to USD & USD to AUD rates
          & Qantas points

Give me the details of a card that does all that and I'll use the FF points to meet you in Vienna and buy you a latte.

        • @ nevbuster….not really clever, I accidently stumbled across this trick, when I changed the credit card I used to deposit legitimatly into my poker account, of course when I discovered this was all possible, I did make a few hefty transaction to score the free points…and I still do to this day. I just hope they dont catch onto it. I wont publicly name the card I used. And to the person that negged me…like I give a sh**.

@daveaus….There is at least 1 card that does this, and has so for the last 4 months since I discovered this loophole…mine, and to make it even better, on one occasion when I withdrew the funds from the poker account to my savings account, because the exchange rate worked in my favour, I got paid more AUD than I actually deposited, and made 5000 QFF's out of that transaction

        • Bankwest Qantas Platinum. $160 annual fee

  • Does stuff at bws count?

    • No.

This is for Woolworths supermarkets only. It includes Woolworths online provided the delivery dates fit into the specific promotion periods.

      • I've updated the title to clarify this issue. Sorry for not making it clear in the original post. The original post made sense for those who have been involved in similar promotions but not for members new to the promotion.

        • According to the terms and conditions, liquor isn't included in the deal.

Yeh I'm not complaining and I don't understand those that are.
Free money to spend what I normally spend anyway. Damn you woollies!!!

  • I got a $30 offer to spend $150 a week for 3 weeks.

    • PS: I had a funny moment on Saturday at Coles. Using my ING DIRECT Orange Everyday account, I can tap and pay to get 5% off anything for 6months (under $100).

So I split my shop in half to do 2x $100 tap and pays to get $5 off each. Between the first shop and the second, Fly Buys gave me a receipt with $10 off my next shop over $50. I added it to the part 2 shop.

In total my basket was $200 retail, I only paid $180.50 after all discounts.

      • yes, its the way to do it. its not limited to one voucher per offer/week.
Usually you dont have to split your shopping into 2, you can just ask the cashier to split the payments.

    • me too

    • Mine went from $20 to $40! I will be shopping at Woolies this weekend!

      • Mine too!

          I'd say the Coles deal.

Coles spend around $100 and get $20 is an excellent deal. I notice the spend amount has been increased by $10 per week over the last couple of weeks.

I sent Woolworths an email the week before last when i get an offer for 1,000 frequent flyer points for spending $275 and told them to lift their game because the Coles offers were much better. I'm sure there marketing people are doing their own research.

        • Coles spend around $100 and get $20

          details please?

        • This is one of the many targeted offers that Coles/Flybuys are offering at the moment. Everyones totals are different.

        • thanks - i still haven't re-joined :)

    • @leeroys_dad

      …Me too

    • me too

    • I got doubled from $50 to $100.

Family of 4 so we were spend $250 over 3 weeks for $50, now $100.

    • me too - I wasn't going to bother for $15 but for $30 I probably will

  • What I like about the Woolies deal is that it can be achieved by multiple purchases within that week.
I shop every 2-3 days and only small amount, so the Woolies deal works for me:)

  • and now Bonus Week – earn another $15 saving
Spend your $100* qualifying amount between Wednesday 19 March to Tuesday 25 March to earn an instant $15 Bonus Voucher.

    • I got a bonus week offer as well for a $10 voucher. I can easily spend another $50 across a one week period to earn the next voucher. I just hope the voucher prints correctly and works when I try to use the voucher the following week.

  • Has anyone received an email from woolworths confirming they will be receiving the gift card? I'm a bit worried I might have forgotten to use my rewards card one time which would mean I may not qualify

    • I received the confirmation email today to say that I had qualified for the gift card.

    • I had forgotten about the offer. accidentally did a shop there on the weekend and then again tonight. checked my email earlier and got a $40 on the way.
