April 2014 - Potential 10 day holiday for 3 days annual leave - what to do?

So as many people have probably already realised, because of the way Easter falls this year, if you take the 22-24 April off this year you will get the benefit of 3 public holidays and get a 10 day break from 18-27 April. In true OzBargain fashion I'm keen to take this off for a holiday and save annual leave. The only problem is that it will likely be expensive to travel at this time. So if anyone spots some good travel deals for this time please post it in here, or if you have any recommendations for holidays that won't be too expensive during this period.

Cheers!

    interested to know too

  • already booked tickets to Europe for 5-29 april
I know it's not only using those three days, but it stil takes advantage of it!
$1200 tickets through air asia & emirates

    • Where in the EU?

      • I would go again its just the exchange rate is pretty bad hovering around 0.65. It was above 0.8 when I went a while back and can't get over how far less my $ goes.

      • flying into France (CDG)
will then travel around and head to Luxembourg, belgium and maybe netherlands before coming back and touring around france before flying out
exchange rate is not the best, but i don't see it getting better anytime soon

        • Nice spot, enjoy France. Really enjoyed it there especially all the historical stuff and the cuisine. You got a good deal on the tickets.

me and a mate booked tickets to new zealand, although I am taking an extra day off to take advantage of a cheap direct flight from auckland to adelaide on the monday after the Anzac day weekend.

flights werent that expensive - $400 adelaide to auckland on Good Friday, $200 return on the Monday after Anzac day. my mate paid similar money for flights leaving on Good Friday and returning on the Sunday after Anzac day between sydney and auckland.

11 day holiday for the price of 4 annual leave days - the ultimate OzBargain.
