12 months ago I bought a game (Dirt: Showdown) from the VideoEzy website which I believe to be UK stock. I didn't play this game and recently decided to sell it to someone new and sealed off eBay.
Found a buyer.
Posted it to them the same day, the following day I receive a message saying the game won’t load and that they get a black screen and that they are going to open a dispute in the resolution center if this doesn't get resolved.
Then they say it’s not a PAL game and that it’s Region 3. Clearly in the photographs I took on eBay it says its PAL and is Region 2 so they lied to me.
They posted the game back to me. I tried it in both my Australian PS3’s and it works fine. They said my console must be chipped and it isn't.
Does anyone know why this game from VideoEzy isn't working on their console? Why they are getting a black screen upon loading the game and it works fine for me. Are they trying to scam me somehow, perhaps tried the game didn't like it and return it.
She said later they rented it and it worked perfectly also making note of the classification logo being different since it may have been UK stock but PS3 games are region free and UK share the same blu-ray region as us Region 2.
I don’t really mind, it’s only $20 to refund. But it’s the principle why this game isn't working for her. I just hope I’m not being scammed. As now they have unsealed the game it is no longer worth $20 and who knows if they have used the Online Code in the box.
I'm also worried about this affecting my 100% eBay feedback score. Which almost forces me to give a refund ASAP. But it's a matter of principle, this game should work.

I have never heard of this. I would be wary as it may be just a chance to scam you. I have purchased full Japanese games, had discs scratched severely and they all have worked on every one of the ps3 I have owned. The PS3 console on all accounts is region free for games. I would be saying well the item was brand new and I am willing to refund a portion of the money to originally purchase it. If they challenge just state your case to ebay that it was brand new, pal region and the ps3 has no region lock. I would not be suprised if they tried it on a PS2 thinking it would worked or they found it cheaper somewhere or something. Maybe they just wanted the DLC or something.
