I often say in these Meguiars special threads you can get more better shampoos which work out no more expensive than these. This seems to upset a lot of the Meguiar fanboys. I don't know why as I probably own more Megs than all of them.

Having said that Meguiars is a good quality over the counter shampoo. Much better than the harsh chemicals at local car wash

It has been a long time since I have used either one. I still have them but they have been sitting on the back shelf for years. Probably use them in my wheel bucket or give them away to someone wanting to get into washing their own car

Here is my recollection of the two washes
Gold: Slicker and sheets better when rinsing
Soft wash: Produces more suds for those that like bubbles

I prefer Gold if given the choice

Cost (at current on special price) per 10L wash:
      Gold 65c
      Soft 49c

Better alternatives if you care (based if buying them in gallon sizes)
      Duragloss 51c ($65 gl)
      Optimum 51c ($50 gl)

  • So people keep talking about Duragloss and Optimum, does anyone care to share where to buy them from? Online only? Any retailers in Melb?

    • +1

      Optimum:
      ZAS (NSW) - Offical supplier
      Mr. Detail (VIC)
      CCP
      Others

      Duragloss
      Wax it (VIC)
      CCP

      • Tempted to Try Duragloss 901.
All the DG retailer have a $12 shipping cost. That's the cost of another bottle…
        Any physical retailer?

        • Wax it and CCP have shop fronts too I believe. However I have no idea where you live.

Go to duragloss au website and email them asking for distributors.

Duragloss has been around a long long time. I remember as a kid seeing a bottle almost 30 years ago.

Or see if a few people will split a gallon with you
