  • These things are so cool I bought 2. Much cheaper on Banggood when they are on special (under AUD$10) and even included a charger and 18650 battery.

    • +1

yeah they are ok but its pot luck if they are truely as bright as the specs say

      • Yea that's pretty true. Brightness is the one specification that I completely ignore for the Chinese imported torches. I think looking at the battery to be used and datasheet of the LED would be a better indicator.

  • Anyone bought from www.myled.com ? I was just about to buy some candle e14 LED's but then came the shipping cost at $37 :( for a few globes.

There's some bad blood about myled around OZB. Check user comments on some of their other deals.

        too risky for my blood

just wait until banggood or merit or someone has a deal on torch + accessories

There's quite a few positive posts resulting from the 300LM torch deal - even though it was 3-mode instead of the advertised 5-mode.
I'm certainly happy with the three torches I received.

        • another +1 here for MyLed. more than happy with my ~$3 torch from there previous deal.
as said above there was a mixup originally quoting 5 mode (which afaik those dont even come in a 5 mode there all 1 or 3 mode) and one person bitched non stop about it but everyone else seemed happy.

Speaking from personal experience I posted one of their deals I saw here on another forum, I would estimate about 100 orders or so from there alone and if you read the last few pages from the post you will see that they all got what they paid for and were impressed with the quality.

    • Some decent deals had, but like most things from china, slow and unknown shipping times. Out of the 3 items purchased in the last 4 weeks, i've had one delivered.

The shipping costs on some discounted items kills the savings. Some items have shipping of upto 50cents, others items i checked were asking 4 times the item cost in shipping.

  • Are you absolutely sure of the specs OP?
Eg. is it definitely "5(High > Mid > Low > Strobe > SOS)"?

    • +2

Yes. I just had it confirmed for you, they checked one manually before replying to me.

      • Sorry ezarc, I didn't realise you posted the deal. I assumed it was myled, and was hoping the specs had been confirmed this time :)
        But thanks for checking!

    • WHY on earth would I want Strobe or SOS? There is nothing more frustrating than turning your torch on and off continually to try and get the mode you want.

Looks like there isn't a lens?

      +1 for the 18650 tho.

      • You might not want them, but others may (and get a bit cranky if they don't).
There's plenty of on/off ones out there for you :)

        • Do you have link(s)?

      • +1

Well I use the strobe when I ride my bike at night. The SOS is more novelty haha. I think for this particular torch (mine has it at least), you can softly press the button and switch modes without turning it off and on again. Sort of like a fast switch.

        • Didn't think about bikes… That is a useful application.

  • unbelievable, my $1 torch just arrived today, 6 weeks after i've ordered it. i even got a box comes with it, not just buble wrap.
