Vodafone Favorites Add-ons for Flexi Credit Ending March 2nd for new customers

I haven't herd much about this on OzBargain, perhaps everyone wanted to keep quiet so it'll stay around longer but unfortunately it's coming to an end on March 2nd.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about.

Vodafone's new prepaid plans which started September 2013 offered Flexible Credit. With this credit you can buy add-ons such as data or social packs. Data-packs where priced at $16 per 350mb. A $30 cap gives $450 flexi credit so that's 9.84GB of data to use within 30 days. $70 cap gives just over 30gb of data keeping in mind you have to individually add these packs one by one every 5 minutes or so. Which turns out a bargain for prepaid, next best offer I could find wasn't even prepaid "Bendigo Bank Telco" offers 20gb on a month to month plan for $80.

But vodafone has updated it's terms and conditions, it reads;

10(d) Favourites Add-On
From 3 March 2014, the Favourites Add-On will only be available to you, if on the 2 March 2014 you have:
• an active Vodafone Prepaid Recharge Product; and
• previously purchased a Favourites Add-On between 2 September 2013 and 2 March 2014.
If this applies to you, you will be able to continue to recharge on the Favourites Add-On, on, or after 3 March 2014, provided Vodafone has not removed this Product.

In my case I'm not a vodafone customer and I want to make use of this deal before it expires. I don't need any data until 4 to 9 months from now when I'm leaving home for a little while to a place where there is no internet but Vodafone has 4G coverage so I figured good value wireless broadband gets the thumbs up, if I can save this deal until then.

Since I don't need it for a while I was hoping I could get the $30 365 day recharge and add a favorites pack which is only $8 before 3rd March which should give me the ability to go on a $30-$70 cap and using many favourites packs in 4-9 months time whenever I leave to continue this deal. Unless vodafone decided to dump add-ons before then.

I'm planning on getting the 365 day recharge so I can make sure the number doesn't expire if it's going to take me a while until I need to recharge on a plan that offers much more data with these favorite packs.

I just assume they are finding too many people are taking advantage of this deal and it's taking a toll on their network. I guess they want to keep their current customers utilizing this but want to make sure no new customers have this ability to avoid a growing problem.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this deal. And if anyone thinks my plan will work. Thank You!

It's all on this document which I found quite confusing

Once again, sorry if this is confusing, I usually write better than this. But hope you all get the idea. =]

    Don't apologise. Great post.

I read about some VF plan changes about a fortnight ago, but that copy didn't specifically reference the 'Prepaid Caps' + 'Flexi Credit', so I thought they would remain unchanged. Apparently not.

I'm now thinking along the same lines as you.
I hope someone can clarify the feasibility of your 365 plan, plan…

I do think it likely won't work - sadly - because switching plans even on a current, active sim, tends to see 'present time' T's & C's kick in then, as were you starting from scratch.

The wording you quote does seem to indicate a possibility, but still a risk when the time comes to switch plans, I think.

Signing up to the Favourites pack was a great choice. A TXT notification confirming when this becomes available will be sent as soon as possible. (sent from my 'Vista + Huawei K3773)…
