How much money would be life changing for you right now?

So I was wondering what is the true value of money ?
I would like to know from my fellow ozbargainers what amount of money given to you right now, today, would warrant a life changing amount? Has to be the absolute minimum amount because obviously $1million is life changing for most of us, if not, definitely for me it is.

  • me and wife won a scratchy for 200,000 in october gotta say it doesnt help that much we put 50 in trust for kids and got a new volkswagen and had a holiday the rest is in a interest account probably only 10k of actual cash left. we own our house otherwise we would have paid the mortgage off

  • $10,000 would do it for me. Of course could use more but that is enough to get rid of the fiancees debt and set us up a little for our incoming first child.

  • around $5 mate, see im hungry, i have $19 on me and its not enough for delivery at dominos, Life or Death mate…

  • I dont think 50k will change my life at all actually….Need at least 1M but preferably 5M. I dont need anything higher than 5 though.

  • What would change my life is if I didn't have to think about money. And not in the "I'm so rich I don't have to think about money" sort of way. Because I'm sure I'll still be thinking about money even if I have a lot of it. I may be thinking about it more at that point. I don't have a lot but I don't have much to pay off either so I think I just have to change my way of thinking with regards to all this.

  • I don't need much, but the freedom to not have to work would be an amazing feeling. I'd probably still work just as much, but knowing that I could leave or would be ok if I lost my job would be pretty sweet.
So $2 million - should be enough to replace my income comfortably if invested.

  • With $50K I could make myself redundant from my work and find a boss who is human.

  • $50k would be nice, enough for 10% deposit on 2x $150k unit/house at 90% LVR and purchasing costs. Pair of semi's in Adelaide wouldn't be a bad option either. Won't be life changing now but by the time it's P&I mortgages paid off, it's during my retirement years so moarrrr cash then for life changing experience :D

  • just 1$…. 1 love dollar……. sigh….
