[Price Error] Super Mario World 3D (Wiiu) $39.95 EB Games

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just picked up Mario 3D World (WiiU) for $39.95 in EB Games. Priced at $79.95 but scanned up cheaper.

I traded 2 x $10 copies of Lego City (3DS) for it :p

Edit/ just to clarify, this is not a price match. The price scanned up at $39.95. I was very surprised as I was going to ask for Target pricematch for $69.95

Edit 2/ removed receipt.

    Anyone else confirm?

    • Receipt is enough to confirm surely?

      • -1

        Fair enough, receipt removed.

Lol, I want to see the receipt.

        • +3

I'll pm you mate. Getting tired of the crap here.

        • +1

          Cheers.

OP is just passing on the deal they got. If you want to confirm get off your ass and ring or go check.

        • Store details were on the receipt. EB are a nationwide store. As I said, price scanned up at register so it is a nationwide price.

        • I'll wait for conformation and if someone can confirm this I will expire the deal. I'll be happy to pm most users here the receipt for pricematch elsewhere.

        • +1

In sure you wouldn't have done anything worthwhile with it anyway.

THANKS FOR WASTING 20 MINS OF MY LIFE

Thanks for wasting 1/5 of my downvotes for the day!

How will this neckbeard cope with missing out on 20 minutes of his important life?…

        • +1

I'll be happy to pm most users here the receipt for pricematch elsewhere.

Don't most stores call the other store to check the price and stock availability though?

        • -8

They do and I called EB to confirm it was an error by the store, the 3D world trade in price is $39.95.

So please stop negging my comments when I am trying to be helpful

        • +3

Had a few people who had the receipt have luck at Target so far.

        • +4

How is (and I quote your previous post) "REMOVE DEAL THANKS FOR WASTING 20 MINS OF MY LIFE" helpful?

There's being helpful, then there's being a rude jackass.

          You deserve your negs….

I wonder which idiot negged OP for posting the receipt. These are the idiots people rather keep good deals to themselves than posting them here to attract negs.

  • That is very cheap

  • Mario is best.

    • +1

      I don't care, he is.

  • I wonder if they mistaken it for 2nd hand? - rarely do you ever see discounted nintendo 1st party games that low.

    • +1

second hand is listed as 69.95 on the website.

      • +1

Yeah it was same price in store also. My copy is brand new.

    • Certainly not from EB, think its even cheaper than importing from UK :/

  • +1

Just checked the scanned price at the Brandon Park EBGames in VIC.

    Nada.

    $79.95.

    • Cheers, I've expired the deal. Pm for receipt for price matching at Kmart or Target guys.

I got Mario 3D LAND on 3DS free from a promo last year
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123570
Thanks to a generous fellow ozbargainer swapping Club Nintendo codes for his 2x $10 copies of Lego City (3DS) for my UK Pokemon XY codes.

Don't have a wiiU so can't comment on this game but Mario 3D LAND was pretty good.

    Thanks for posting.

    • +1

You're welcome on both accounts. I forgot I'd swapped those codes ;)

Went to my local eb and scanned at website price. Showed them the receipt and they told me the store has stuffed up and the trade in value for 3d world is $39 so

Don't neg me for pointing out the problem

  • So has anyone price matched at Target or Big W.

    • -3

No…they will call EB and check.

      • So no ones tried?

        • +1

I tried at Target Glen VIC with the scan of the receipt, employee called his boss and verified that Target does not price match (can change on a store-to-store basis for Target, there seems to be no company-wide policy).

Although he seemed ready to process the payment if he got the go-ahead, will try at another store and report.

        • A couple of guys have had success, if they want to post about it or not is up to them.

        • Would you please pm me the receipt then?
