Meh, wanted to buy one of the jerseys but they ran out of bibs (only very small or very large sizes left) - can't find any on other sites other. Still have a good selection of jerseys available. Prices are quite good.

Thank you 2ndeffort. Bought a few items myself.

Thanks OP, needed some half compression tights. My favorites are still 2XUs but finding them a bit too expensive. Had one of these SKINS and pretty happy with them, and now got them as a good deal. Thanks again!

  • Creditcard is broken now….

Nice prices OP (and my sizes…!), many thanks

  • is SKINS overpriced?

  • Thanks for great post. Been keen to get Skins Cycling Gear.

  • If you can't get the sizes you need, bare in mind that chainreactioncycles is offering free delivery and their compression gears are reasonably priced

    • CRC have free delivery (ends this weekend), 10% off clothing (code CC10, ends 5 March) and many skins items are on sale.
However, since their skins have been on sale for a few weeks, there are only limited sizes left.

      • With the "CC10" code, what is that valid for? I tried using it on some bike shorts but got

Coupon code is invalid or unrecognised
Please correct or remove the coupon code.

          • Extra 10% off applies only to items in the clothing clearance sale.

The skins are in the sale, maybe the shorts you added were not?

        • Turns out I was trying to use the CRC coupon on CellBikes, yep, I'm an idiot lol.

      • Almost no sizes left here too.

Good deal if you wear XS bike gear. Not much help to the rest of us. I don't want quite that much compression!

  • Cycle clothing in dark grey? Are you suicidal?

Cell bikes also currently has some good deals on clothing, and also free delivery:

Bike pants should always be black or dark grey. If you don't know why, you have clearly never sat in behind somebody wearing white knicks on a wet day. Ewww.

Cell's gear is quite a few steps lower in (perceived) value than Skins. Kind of like comparing Holdens and BMWs. I do OK in cheap knicks, but others reckon they need $200 Skins, Rapha or Assos - for comfort and/or label snobbery. They wouldn't like Cell gear, even on sale.

      • Good point about the the knicks. I was looking at jerseys.
Lights and reflectors are good by night, but white and yellow rule by day. I don't want to wear a hi-vis vest over my jersey - that'd be almost as bad as being hit by a "sorry didn't see you mate" driver.

      • Or in bright sun…

I've got quite a bit of Cell clothing, and it's all been fine. My only qualm was that I bought knicks at XXL on the advice that they run a little small but XL would have been a better fit. That was my fault for not getting an XL and XXL. It's held up nicely after many uses and washing.

I understand being visible is good for safety. If you want to wear dark clothes there are a load of clip on lights etc that you can wear to make yourself more visible.

I reckon the guys on my LBS group ride would laugh at me if I turned up wearing white knicks. It might be OK if you are Andy Schleck or Fabian Cancelara but probably not so good for one of the fat lads at the back of the pack on a climb somewhere in the hills!!!

In terms of quality knicks, I have a couple of generic brand knicks from back when I was not so serious about cycling. They were cheap and OK for pottering around on my old mountain bike, did the job for the 15 min run in along the bike path to work of a morning etc or for a spin class at the gym. I have since become more serious about cycling. Knicks are one of the most important bits of kit, essentially they are what normally determines how comfortable you are, especially on long rides. The chamoix or padding on the knicks is normally the big difference with the more expensive knicks having much better and more comfortable … ahem….arrangements!!!

I have some Sugoi and some Assos Knicks now that are light years ahead of the old generic knicks I used to wear.

  • Thanks OP! Ordered 2 half tights with FREE SHIPPING

  • Anyone know what the Skins online returns policy is like? I can't find it in the FAQ or on their site if you are able to return discounted goods.

Also what's the sizing like, I assume they probably run a bit on the smaller side?

    • Detailed size-charts are available on the website, they even say to ignore the usual S/M/L that you might use. Also of note is that the sizing appears to change between the compression/standard jerseys so check the charts for each item.

Rubbish product. I have used these previously. After a while the fabric dissolves in the washing machine leaving everyone able to see your private parts. Needless to say, no one wants to see my ugly butt.

    • you're not supposed to wash lycra in the washing machine like regular clothes. it's a delicate. hand wash only with warm water and only a little detergent. rinse thoroughly and air dry.

however, yes if your butt is ugly i certainly don't want to see it.

  • For this price I am pretty keen!! Thanks OP you dun well

  • Great product I just wish I was smaller or bigger.

  • Thanks OP. Just had mine delivered this monning and lucky the sizes were fine. They included a bag a lollies too!

  • Mine arrived this arvo. Pretty good quality and size seems accurate to the tables provided. As said, well packaged with a free bag of lollies in the box!!

    • Received mine this morning - how come I didn't get any lollies?!
      :(

    • Got mine too, but no lollies. :(
Maybe it was my fault for calling them to change the order after I placed it (which they did without problem).

  • In fairness, too many lollies might have lead to me needing bike clothes in the 1st place!!!

  • Thanks 2ndeffort… just got a bike and need to pick up some gear!

  • Can you wear cycling compression tights for running? I'm not sure about the difference but I'm actually in the market for some compression gears.

Can you wear cycling compression tights for running

No idea but I did a triathlon with a pair of cycling shorts with the padding in the ass, felt like I was running with soiled underpants - not that I know what that feels like :P
